This place was sold to us as the Vexplorer Lodge by Cacao Travel who booked us in for half board there. Santa Elena de Uairén is limited in what is on offer, but is the best base in order to see Kukenan & Roraima. The Lodge, very basic in its facilities, is located on the outskirts of town, just far... Decent place, clean, friendly. Reasonably very good for the standards of santa elena. Zero luxury though. No swimming pool. Sergio the owner is very nice.

A nice place I found heading Grand Sabana. Colorful, tropical plantation surrounded by rain forest and water lagoon. Seems to be a lost paradise where you will meet toucans, hummingbirds and parrots, together with monkeys voices in the morning and frog’s concert but at the same time having a touch of high standard rooms with hot water.
