I went to Puerto Ordaz with my family and decided to stay at this hotel. Years ago, it was part of the Intercontinental brand, but it was expropriated by the Venezuelan government. The location is amazing, on the banks of the Caroni river, with great views to La Llovizna park. But, views are only a small portion of the package.... More

I went to puerto ordaz last Thirsday. Well, it is some how far from the air port. Next to cachamay park. And it outlooks a nice waterfall. It has a pool which is rarely used by the travellers. The bar and restaurant offer nice food and drink with very reasonable price. However the waiters are too serious and not very... More

After a long flight from Belgium we were welcomed with a smile. Former intercontinental hotel but now owned by the government. Clean large rooms but in need of renovation. Considering what we have seen on our trip this is probable one of the better hotels. Very friendly hard working staff. Breakfast was plenty and buffet diner good. Nice view on... More

Great Location : The hotel Overlooks the Llovizna Waterfall, the Cachamay and The Llovizna Natural Parks which is a great way to wake up in the morning. The Restaurants were excellent both Breakfast and Dinner were excellent and the staff could not be faulted as they made my 8 day stay good. The bedrooms were a good size and clean... More

This hotel is very well located. Overlooks the Llovizna Waterfall, the Cachamay and The Llovizna Natural Parks. Outside needs some painting. We first booked a standard room with no view. It was terrible, so we asked for a better room and they gave us a recently renovated one with a good view . This room was cleaner and better maintained... More

We stayed at the Intercontinental in Puerto Ordaz for two nights as part of a Venezuela tour. First impressions were of a large conrete lump of a hotel - large lobby, pool, gardens leading down to the river and the most amazing view over to the Llovizna Falls. However, the hotel turned out to be completely soulless and the staff... More

Not a bad hotel. Restaurant and bar ok. Nice pool with very scenic rapids in view. Casino next door. Not great value at over $300 a night

I've stayed in many intercons all over but this hotel definitely was not in the same class as the typical Intercon. This hotel was more like an old Holiday Inn. The hotel is located near the river Orinoco and is in a beautiful location. The nearby falls are awesome. However, the hotel has many problems with the rooms, the facilities... More

The most serious problem is its air conditioning. It is located at the top of the building. It is really and permanently very noisy, impossible to sleep, it even smells fuel oil from time to time. It's a pitty in a so quiet and beautiful environment. The environment of the hotel is superb, one of most beautiful in the world;... More

This hotel doesn't deserve to be an Intercontinental, and it certainly doesn't deserve the five star category it claims to have. The rooms are horrible, bathrooms a disgrace and the service is at best nonchalent, at worst downright rude. The only reason that this hotel remains in business is due to the casino, which is packed every day from about... More
