The hotel is super good I'm from the city but i had to book the hotel for some guest, i was NOT disappointed and I live here!! The best thing about Ciudad Bolivar is that there is a Sport Store near there that buys USD really really cheap i mean the rates are unbelievable i couldn't believe how many people... More

Yes, the hotel courtyard is gorgeous, however the rooms are small (tiny double beds against a corner, making it impossible to get of bed without waking up your partner), very dirty carpets and freezing centralised air con that cannot be tuned. The staff was not particularly helpful either. We arrived from an overnight bus from Boa Vista (Brazil) and although... More

Every detail of this restoration, especially the lobby, was well done for an aesthetic appeal. I was told it had formally been an ancestral home as well as a one time Red Cross Building. The bedroom was small but with comfortable beds and a modern attractive bathroom. Surrounding area a a bit disappointing. I had expected more in the way... More

Newly renovated, authentic posada in the old town of Angustura,. Next neighbourhood still lacks the restoration. Close to the refitted main square. Rooms clean but bit small. Breakfast is modest, but good stopover between Caracas and Canaima. Gives the Cuba feel with the flats and houses similar next to it.

Cute hotel in the older part of Cuidad Bolivar. It seemed like a renovated warehouse, decorated nicely with traditional furnitures, cute artifacts. Its situated in the older part of town amidst rows of colorful houses. Rooms are clean and well furnished, a bit small. If the restaurant in the hotel is closed then its a bit difficult to find a... Really lovely converted building. Looks like it might have been a former warehouse.Comfortable accommodation.Wonderful view of the Orinoco from the roof top. Good quiet air conditioner. Free Wifi in reception. Room safe. Food OK, but nothing special. A good choice for stopping off on the way to or from Canaima.

Ciudad Bolívar is a bit of a staging post between Caracas and La Gran Sabana, there really didn´t seem much to attract a visit in its own right. An awkward change of travel plans found us there against our will – see my Venezuela Trip Report. Previously known as Angostura (the Pisco Sour enhancing bitters were invented here) it sits... More

We stayed there for two nights before and after doing the Camaina tour to Salto Angel and really enjoyed it. The hotel is arranged in a rustic, colonial-style type and it is really nice to view the lobby, staying in the diner room or being in the rooms, enjoying the athmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although the rugs... More

My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon. We were taken/recommended the hotel by our local travel agent (Saipito Tours - Señor Bernal), who got us 'mates rates'. We spent just the night here (which for the decling city is probably enough these days). The staff who were the owners were really good with us. The whole hotel has... More

We spent one night at La Casa Grande and enjoyed our stay there. The posada is a beautiful old building located near the Malecon in Cuidad Bolivar. The rooms were a little bit dated, but very clean and the rooftop view of the Orinoco River is unbeatable. We thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi on the roof top. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Grande de Angostura is a true colonial jewel situated in Ciudad Bolívar. This two-story house is listed under historical protection and was restored with special care to every detail. The roof terrace with a small swimming pool offers a stunning view over the city, the Orinoco River and the “Angostura Bridge”, the first bridge built over the Orinoco. We invite you to enjoy a warm afternoon at our small roof-top pool with a cold drink and a magnificent sunset. This Boutique Hotel is an ideal starting point to many interesting destinations around the country. Ciudad Bolivar’s airport is just a few minutes away, with daily departures of tours to the Canaima national park and Angel Falls, the tallest waterfall in the world. The Capital of the State has a very colorful townscape, about 350.000 inhabitants and an average temperature of 28ºC. Casa Grande has 15 superior rooms or suites (single, double or triple).
