Posada Dom Carlos is situated in a nice location in Cuidad Bolivar, near Orinoco river. The city is the gateway to Canaima which is the main attraction. The colonial stile offers a relax and cozy stile. You can stay in the rooms but the hammocks are an affordable alternative.

We decided to use this hostal after several people mentioned it to us. Beautifully restored colonial building located 3 blocks away from the Orinoco. The barrio is super nice - old colonial barrio called angostura. The staff were all very helpful And Martin the owner was very nice too. Especially liked the little duplex rooms and the hammock spaces available.... More

Posada Don Carlos. When we were traveling through Venenezuela, we stopped in that posada (for 3 days). They offer you some home made meals, but its ok just to try them. Don't order them everyday. Stuff is nice, they are prepared to help in any way they can. Their "connection" to go in the Canaima (natural park, where Angel fall... More

Clean, helpful with arranging things. In a beautiful building with nice courtyard. I would say the building itself is probably the main attraction of this city. U might regret it, if u didn't at least visit this place! Sometimes full! So if u wanna be sure, book in advance.

The style of the posada is what first grabs you. A large open courtyard with a bar and TV area to the right and the whole place with a colonial style. Kitchen and rooms to the back that does decent breakfast. Rooms are a good size. I went for fan and shared bathroom double which was good value. Hosts are... More

Me and my wife had a wonderful stay in Posada. That was our first destination point in Venezuela. If you wanna stay in climatic charming place which you wont find in Europe pick that place. It takes first a few minutes to make the pictures of the whole climatic place, 4 meters doors, bar, high colonial rooms and everything. Fluently... More

My husband and I spent there one night after booking with Alvaro (the really helpful day manager) a tour to Angel Falls. They forgot to pick us up at our return and also the fact that we had a room booked with them, but they resolved this mishap without a fuss. We stayed in room #1, a room with a... More

My husband and I went backpacking for three week in Venezuela in March/April 2013. To keep costs down we stayed in hostels. After an initial stay in a hostel/prison in Caracus I wasn't expecting much when we arrived here. It was amazing totally safe, lots of space, lovely friendly staff and travellers. Hammock area, court yard, large clean rooms. It... More
