Martin could not have been more helpful before our trip to Venezuela and during our stay at Don Carlos. He helped us with flights and cars across the country and sorted our Canaima trip. It is a beautiful building, full of antiques (and cats and dogs) and all the staff are very friendly. There are lots of places to hang... More

The posada is in a lovely and historic building. What is best about the place are Martin and his family who own Don Carlos. They are a wealth of knowledge and have many travel tips. I stayed in room 2 and I loved it. Big, comfortable and air-conditioned. To add a bit of quaintness, two policemen and a shoeshine seem... More

From the moment I emailed Martin to ask about coming to Ciudad Bolivar, getting to Angel Falls and Venezuela - I knew this was going to be a great place to stay! Martin is originally from Germany but with 20 years in Venezuela he is for sure Venazolano! I can't explain how much of a complex but amazing country Venezuela... More

So I stayed here while I was sorting a trip to Angel falls. The posada is beautiful its large open and pleasant. The people that let me in were Spanish, didn't speak any English but we sorted it and they got me into a room and were very helpful. The room was clean, all was good (The only reason this... More

Don Carlos is located in the historical town, great location, in a beautiful old house. As you want to visit Ciudad Bolivar it's a fair choise, despite the inconvenience to have a drunk person knocking the door of my room midnight I've enjoyed the area. If you plan to visit Angel Falls I suggest you buy your tour in Puerto... More

Martin is a nice guy and knows the place. He has good contacts and can help with money exchange if needed (this can be super helpful since its basically impossible to get money in Venezuela at the moment if u didnt bring enough dollars with you)

Stayed here in April 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed the place. The boss (a German gentleman with flawless English) made us all very welcome and had many helpful tips for a tourist. He can arrange transfers to the local airport and knows a lot about trips to Angel Falls which is the big thing in this region. The casa itself is... More

Posada Dom Carlos is situated in a nice location in Cuidad Bolivar, near Orinoco river. The city is the gateway to Canaima which is the main attraction. The colonial stile offers a relax and cozy stile. You can stay in the rooms but the hammocks are an affordable alternative.

We decided to use this hostal after several people mentioned it to us. Beautifully restored colonial building located 3 blocks away from the Orinoco. The barrio is super nice - old colonial barrio called angostura. The staff were all very helpful And Martin the owner was very nice too. Especially liked the little duplex rooms and the hammock spaces available.... More

Posada Don Carlos. When we were traveling through Venenezuela, we stopped in that posada (for 3 days). They offer you some home made meals, but its ok just to try them. Don't order them everyday. Stuff is nice, they are prepared to help in any way they can. Their "connection" to go in the Canaima (natural park, where Angel fall... More
