Tapuy Lodge is situated on the majestic Canaima Lagoon, but their is nothing else heavenly about it. Bedding dirty! The "outdoor" camp near Angel Falls is completely unsanitary with dirty toilets that don't flush and sewage all over the bathroom area Just next door to Waku, and for a little bit more money, is Waku Lodge which worlds apart from... This is relaxing charming lodge in Canaima. Water falls is in front. However, it is still in mountain so that water pressuer for shower is sometimes weak and cold. Room is well maintained and very comfortble. Peaple are very freindly and all foods I had were delicious.

Support everything positive said about this posada of rustic charm, quality rooms, good aircon, location on beach, honest and friendly staff. Only food was average and you have to forgive the towel racks. Decent supplier obviously lacking. Water was a bit iffy. But it is nevertheless a sanctuary coming from roughing it.

My wife and stayed at the Tapuy Lodge on January 9th and 11, 2014 with night of the 10th at the Angel Falls camp in hammocks. Overall, the Lodge is very nice and suited our needs, but it was our impression that there was room for improvement in room maintenance. On the 9th we stayed in room 4 where the... More

My family spent 3 nights in Tapuy Lodge to visit Canaima and Angel Falls after a week trip in Gran Sabana. We found this little hotel lovely, especially after a week of rough, though wonderful trip. The hotel grounds are very nice, the "beach" is very convenient especially with kids and the proximity and view of Salto Sapo is also... More

Getting to the Canaima National Park is a hassle due to flight delays and cancelations but once you arrive the not-so-good travel experience is quickly forgotten and you realize it was worth the trip. The accommodations at Tapuy are excellent and the staff is extremely helpful. The lodge is located close to the lagoon so the views are great. We... More

Perfect place in earth.. You forget all the bust and compexity of the ourside world. Feel like in Paradise. Good food , excellent service. English spoken. Good guides, excellent excursions. Local feel, but provides also for those who got used to top quality. Any tours can be arranged at the hotel very efficiently. Transfer to the airtrip. Smooth organisation.

Pretty lagoon side location with lovely views of the local Sapo falls (NOT the Angel!) Comfortable room, a/c etc., lighting poor, housekeeping good. Hot water intermittent and hard to control temperature, they seemed to keep turning off the pump. Staff fairly well trained & attentive. Good food in lovely surroundings. Get used to soup to start every meal! Recommended. Angelina... More

Wow! I'll say it again ... Wow! Traveling in Venezuela is tough. I'm an Aussie and even I found it hot and humid, all day every day. Then there's the unreliability of the Venezuelan transport system. To get to Canaima Lagoon was 2 flights on small aircraft, which invariably ran late. Returning was even more difficult, waiting at the airport... More

The hotel is pretty good. Rooms are clean and modern. Sadly we didn't have hot water. Watch out for their funny rules on alcohol, they don't have any beer. Also, when we returned from two days in the jungle they wouldn't let us have a shower or provide us with lunch as promised - a poor ending

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Lodge was built in 2006 and is one of the three hotels located directly on the beach of the famous Canaima Lagoon, one of the most beautiful places in Venezuela. From the beach you will have a stunning view over the various waterfalls and the majestic Table-top Mountains “Cerro Venado” and “Cerro Kursari”. The lodge has been built according to the typical Indigenous style to fit into the landscape, combining tradition with modern life. “Tapuy“ means “roof of a big palm tree” in Pemon language. Spend some time in our rustic restaurant or the bar in an indigenous-style Churuata, just a few steps away from the rooms. Our staff will spoil you with national, international or indigenous-style meals. There are 16 superior rooms that have been tastefully decorated and include air conditioning and a fan. Bathrooms are fully equipped and include a bathtub and all amenities. ... more   less
