This was our second year to stay @ this lodge. Last year there were 4 of us staying at the lodge on July 4th weekend. The room was so-so in cleanliness, there was no light or lamp in the bedroom and the hide a bed was terribly uncomfortable. This year, we requested room #301 (review from another review from here)... more
The Lodge is a very strange place. It reminded me so much of one of the faded places in the Catskills, struggling to stay alive without much maintenance or thought by the owners. At 9am, 5:30pm and 10am on different days of our stay, there was NO staff in the Lodge. When we were ready to check out no one... more
Just spent a weekend at the lodge, and unfortunately it was so decrepit, run down and plain dirty that we escaped before the weekend was over and took refuge at a much more superior local Hampton Inn. Drawbacks of the site were its overall dilapidated condition, wall unit noisy AC , televisions that were consistently unrealiable and without remotes (really... more
The dining room and bar are great, but when staying at this jewel in the ozarks be sure to ask to be placed in a lake view room which has been updated. Although the updated rooms are not exceptional in quality they are quaint and above average in quality. The rooms not updated or without lake views are worthless. There... more
We have just returned from our family reunion in Arkansas. We live in Illinois so it took us 9 1/2 hours. The first night my parents and my husband and I stayed at Scandia Inn in Eurka Springs, AR and it was great $50.00 a room with full breakfast can't beat it. We made our way to Garfield the next... more
We were there for a family reunion. We had problems with not enough hot water for the showers. We also had problems with toilets not working and phones not working in the rooms. A fireplace mantle fell off and hit a small child in the head. One of my family had a room where there was a water leak in... more
The Lodge on Whitney Mountain is in a beautiful location on Beaver Lake. The lodge has very comfortable rooms with an outstanding view of the lake. A great place to just get away from it all and relax. Also, the lodge has a very nice restaurant with very courteous owners. more
We recently stayed at the lodge on Whitney Mountain, and I have to say that the rooms are deplorable! We paid $95 + tax for a room which was in disrepair, unclean & smelly! There were no extra towels, blankets or pillows. The man at the front desk who checked us in was very rude, also! On the positive side,... more
First of all, the view of the lake is awesome. This being the only thing I was pleased with. The rooms were poorly decorated. There was a hole in the wall above the bathroom mirror and the bathroom door would not shut. The group of people we were in attendance with were treated poorly by management. As if we were... more
