I visited Merida as part of 2week trip to Venezuela and I stayed at the posada Casa Sol. The posada was just magnificent. The patios were so beautiful decorated and the rooms were spacious and cleans. The breakfast at the hotel was a unique experience. You could order from different breakfasts (criollo, panquecas etc) and also add some extras at... More

This is not a 5 star hotel, nor does it set out to be. It is what it is, an excellent B&B. Owned and run personally by a German lady. We had a garden room at the back of the building that we were quite happy with. Some of the rooms do not have windows (ours did), so if that... More

So quirky with art to look at at every turn, this is a wonder oasis in Merida. My room was small but others are larger. The duvet was divine but wished I could have found how to turn the overhead fan off. The showers had loads of hot water which we had missed in other places. Free tea and coffee... More

What a lovely place in Merida. Beautifully adorned with art from local artists and decorated with a nice Spanish flare, this place is one of the best B&B's you can find. The breakfast is among the best I have ever had with many choices, including your typical eggs, but many you won't find like German style pancakes. This is because... More

Casa Sol was without doubt the best posadas we stayed in all of Venezuela it is a credit to all involved with its creation and the dedicated people that work there. The breakfasts were excellent and the design and decoration of the place creates a bubble of tranquillity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Staying in the Posada Casa Sol was a great experience. The rooms are great, the service is excellent, and the entire atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The central courtyard/patio is a nice place to relax and there is art everywhere around you. Plus great breakfast and coffee/tea all-day. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Merida and... More

Deserves the #1 rating for posadas in Merida. Loved the courtyard garden, eating under the big avocado tree. We stayed 5 nights as a Carnaval getaway from the coast. Calm place, decor and the layout are really well thought out. Funky vibe with art and sculpture everywhere you turn but not too much. Still classy. The only thing to note... More

Stayed for just the night, as it was the only night available during our stay in Merida. Arrived at about 10am as some bug was keeping me under the weather and the posada let us check in and allow me to recover. Thank you :) The posada has a very warm, homely feel to it. The service adds to that... More

Great inn! It has a lot of character due to its rustic décor. The property was beautiful and the staff was friendly. It was just so tranquil; it felt like I was a world away from the city. Breakfast is included, and while there was not much variety, the portions were enough. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else if I... More
