Spent three nights at the Otai, and was very pleased with the services provided, as well as the convenient location. Owner was very friendly and made good suggestions for restaurant facilities (loved overlooking the ocean and watching the sunset); arranged excellent tours.

The Otai is well located, just a few minutes walk to the main street. (There are restaurants on the same block, and a six minute walk brings you to the corner of the soccer field, which has an open-walled restaurant that serves delicious and filling fried tuna and cheese emapanadas for under eight dollars.) the Otai breakfast is good, but... I stayed here for three nights while visiting Easter Island. Given where I was, I didn't spend too much time in the hotel but it was everything you need for a visit to Easter Island. Clean, good location, very good breakfast each morning. The grounds are also very nicely landscaped and the pool is a nice touch. I would definitely... More

We had the pleasure of staying at the O'tai hotel for 5 days. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers and fruit trees. The owner really takes pride in the appearence of the grounds. The rooms are comfortable and the AC works, nothing fancy but we came for the Moai not a resort experience. The pool is very relaxing... Location was great, yes. We were only a couple of minutes away from the harbor and all the restaurants (which were closed most of the time). But this place is in dire need of updating. The beds were comfortable but on rollers so you weren't quite sure where you'd end up in the morning. The room was large but very... More

We had a choice of this hotel or the more pricey all inclusive on the other side of town. We opted for the Otai because we wanted to venture out on our own. This turned out to be a great spot. The rooms are basic which is fine, but also included air conditioning just in case. The location is just... More

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights in April 2014. Even though the Island is small , many hotels are located 1-2 miles from the "center". (3 Blocks long , center ) The Otai hotel is located 100m from the center and very convenient. With all the restaurants in a walking distance. The garden is fabulous. Probably the nicest garden... I was at O'Tai on Feb. 2014, for 2 weeks during Tapati Festival: this means the busiest period of the year but it not affected the quiet, wonderful, little-paradise-apart of O'tai. Best position, close both to "broadway" and the shore; your room is perfectly clean and equipped, in the middle of a garden that could really worth the trip itself!... More

It would be simple to improve this hotel. Replace the room furnishings with something from this century or at least since 1950 and smarten up the breakfast. On the positive side it's reasonably clean, well located, has a/c, pool and lovely gardens. The breakfast is pathetic which could and should be fixed by tomorrow. As for the coffee it's just... More

The O'tai has 42 eooms spread out over a beautiful hacienda style motif. The flowers and foliage were superb. The walkways were manicured to perfection. My room was spacious. Floor, walls, ceiling and corners were hospital clean. The bed, bedding and towels were clean and clean smelling. Three stars means no TV, clock, radio, complimentary Wi-Fi, limited electrical outlets and... More
