Explora is designed to get you out to enjoy the area you are visiting, not for lounging around the hotel. The rooms are nice and so is the spa area but you are there to see Easter Island so that is how the hotel is geared. They offer one excursion in the morning and another in the afternoon. The guides... More

First of all, let me say that this trip was totally worth it. Easter Island is Amazing! The programs offered at the Hotel are so diversified that you never get bored. The walks are awesome, you go into caves, on beaches, on top of volcanoes, and then of course, you have the Moai... The rooms are nice, you sometimes see... More

Everything is included including drinks, they have a great spa, great views. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The best part is the tours you can take two half days or a full day. You can do more in nature and eco tourism than in any other place, great treks and bicycle tours. Very recomended! Food is great!

We had a wonderful stay here in mid February. Located out of town with beautiful sea views from both the hotel and the rooms-we often saw wild horses from our room. Nice outdoor pool too. The tours were excellent. Well thought-out and taking you off the beaten track. Though crowds got off our plane, we barely saw a soul on... More

The hotel is wonderful: in perfect harmony with the surroundings. The guides are always helping, explaining the local culture, history and trying their best to help you see the highlights of Easter Island. The hotel management puts your comfort and you above everything! Fantastic staff! Thank you!

I am so happy that I selected the Explora Rapa Nui for our time on Easter Island. It is located away from the main village with a gorgeous view of the ocean from every room. While the air conditioning in the room did not really work, the overhead fan with cross ventilation made sleeping comfortable. Meals are included and there... More

I am at a loss to understand the good reviews of this hotel. It is overpriced and very definitely not a first rate hotel. Other travellers mention the broken air-conditioning - which has been broken for almost a year - but that was the least of our problems. Maybe we just had a bad week but we had a series... More

We always wanted to visit Easter island and it lived up to its expectations. This hotel is an amazing property with amazing views of the ocean. The hotel offered great excursions--to the Moais scattered around the island and a number of great hikes up volcanoes and to beautiful craters. Imagine Latin America suggested this property and we are glad they... More

A beautiful spot on an interesting island. The rooms all have a view of the sea in the distance. The air conditioning does not function. So ask for a fan; then you will be comfortable. The food is good, but if you stay for longer, somewhat repetitive. Wines and other drinks flow very freely. This Explora, like those in Patagonia... More

Explora is adjacent to a cow paddock which has, not surprisingly, cow manure in abundance! It also has an abundance of flies, thanks to the hot days (regularly 30ºC/86ºF). If building a $2,160 per night "luxury" lodge next to cows defecating is ill considered, the lack of fly screens is appalling, especially given that the air conditioning units in all... More
