Lucked out with an evening to see local dance and get a meal on a Monday night. Dinner was good and plentiful, the Pisco sour was tasty and the service was smooth. The dancing was entrancing, the girls were graceful and their hands wonderfully elegant. The male dancers were energetic and the supporting band was wonderfully loud and rhythmic. I... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Kaimana Inn. The good size rooms surround a common outdoor area where you can relax and meet other guests. Marcelo is a knowledgeable host always available to help you organise something or to just have a drink and a chat about the island etc.. Breakfast was good, Inn is central, a few steps on... More

We stayed at the Kaimana for a week while we were exploring Easter Island. The room was basic but, as we were there to see the island, it was just what we needed. We had a great stay. We were picked up at the airport by Sonia (Marcello's wife) who was very friendly and she took us on a small... More

Kaimana is a great place to stay on Easter as it is within walking distance of a variety of sites, restaurants and services in/around town. Marcelo was always available to help with activities and to discuss places to visit. Breakfast each morning was a great start to each day. Rooms are basic, but your not on Easter to spend time... This hotel is on the main road but the rooms are in the back so traffic noise in not an issue. The rooms have no windows, only a large sliding door so ventilation is a problem. All rooms face a large comfortable common area where an average breakfast is served. Easter Island has huge cockroaches two of which were in... More

Easter Island doesn't have any major hotels so you have mostly family hotels like Kaimana Inn. So my review is relative to that. Overall Kaimana Inn is a good value choice. The owner and family are very friendly. A word about the A/C. There is no A/C but generally the nights are cool. I don't sleep well when it's too... More

Clearly the key to having a great stay at this hotel is having Marcelo there. Unfortunately for us, he departed on the same plane we arrived on and without him at the hotel, things were pretty disorganised. Our tours were not booked for the correct days and we really had no insight into the island activities. Once the tours were... More

because TIME is what you make of it. If you go to Rapa Nui expecting to stay at Hiltons or Sheratons you would rather go to Cancun. If you are bothered by the occasional fly or bug at meal time or throughout the day for that matter; don't go to the tropics, go to Monaco. If the abundant noise of... More

Located right in the centre of Hanga Roa - 1 minutes walk from restaurants and hire car locations; Marcelo is really helpful and clearly knows the island well; the rooms are simple but clean and comfortable; there is some noise from surrounding properties - dogs barking - but I did not find this an issue.

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Easter Island, and were happy that Kaimana Inn lived up to its' reviews. While our room was not luxurious, it was clean, and the shower, once warmed up, was great. We had a perfect room for a family of four, a double bed and bunk beds. One concern is that there is...
