The staff here are great and the common eating area is lovely with great views, but the rest is pretty average. The kitchen is poorly equipped, cramped, and tiny. The six bed dorms are also pretty cramped snd the cleaniless is pretty so so.

We travelled here on a 3 hour coach trip from El Calafate, a nice simple comfortable journey that was only interrupted by the enforced presentation at the park entrance! Off the coach, watch the presentation, back on the coach, then 5 minutes to the hostal. We had a room with a private bathroom; the room was very clean and comfortable.... More

Stayed one night here; first time in a hostel in 20 years! We booked a private room with bath and it was a great deal. El Chalten has lots of options, but most charge a lot for not very much--- Condor de los Andes was a good value, They booked our bus tickets, changed money and were generally very friendly.... More

I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel. Everything is very clean and well presented. It looks like a modern hotel. The breakfast is very basic but good quality. There is a nice common area. The service is great and very helpful. Its expensive as everything in chalten but the quality is really good for the price it has. Wifi... More

Stayed here for three nights while trekking in the National Park and were very happy with our choice. It is at the bus station / park office end of town which is fine... less distance to walk with your big bags and offers a much better view of Mt Fitzroy (helpful for gauging the weather and choosing your walk) than... Desk is very friendly and knowledgable about food, companies, and hikes. Wifi does not work well upstairs. Very reasonably priced with very nice rooms. I can't complain one iota- they booked a horseback riding tour late the night before and had to keep calling to do so.

We booked a hostel for EC at last minute and ended up here, though I think there are much better options further out of town (towards the start of the hiking trails.) Only a 5 minute walk to the bus station, great for early buses, and also 10 mins from the main square and all the restaurants. The hostel is... More

Friendly staff, tasty breakfast, nice kitchen. Internet a little slow but hey it is everywhere in this region! Conveniently close to a grocery store and not too far from the main drag. Important to realize they are cash only -- no cards, so budget appropriately!

If you're looking for a budget place with decent facilities, an outpost but cozy style fitting the location, and proximity to the town's center, this is the place to stay. Plus Condor de los Andes has a large common/ breakfast area which invites socializing. I can't say there was too much of that going on when I was there, but... More

The location is average in town (not far from a big diesel power generator. Helpful staff. Fairly basic backpackers haunt which tends to live on its reputation. If you book ahead you can probably find much better value for money elsewhere in town.
