Do you have an idea of heaven? If it includes an incomparably beautiful and isolated setting, being treated as an honored friend, eating delicious cuisine served impeccably with a few world class wines, and hiking to glaciers or fishing in turquoise waters, this is your paradise. Don't come here for the bar scene, or if you require an extensive menu... More

We stayed for two nights including New Year's Eve and had a wonderful experience. The other reviews go into plenty of detail about how and why Aguas Arriba Lodge is so special. My expectations were understandably high upon arrival, and exceeded throughout the stay. I highly recommend and hope to return. Below are a few notes that may help as... More

Aguas Arriba Lodge requires one to embark upon a journey beyond the guidebooks to find a refuge for both physical exhilaration and personal contemplation. Here on the secluded shore of Lago del Desierto one is surrounded by dense forest, winding private trekking trails, and hanging glaciers in the breathtaking shadow of the glorious Fitz Roy peaks. Proprietors, Ivor and Pato... More

We loved our stay here! It is very remote--think a 30-plus kilometer drive on a dirt road and then a 15-minute boat ride! But it is worth it. Great food, great views, great hosts, great staff and great hikes! Two key things to know: 1. Cash only! 2. Alcohol is an added charge. Some guests were surprised by these points.... More

This lodge ranks up there as one of my all time favorites. The setting is gorgeous and the lodge itself is extremely comfortable. It's all glass & wood and fits perfectly into the landscape. Ivor & Patricia, the owners & builders of the lodge, are delightful hosts - caring and friendly, but never intrusive. I had a "glacier view" room... More

Absolutely phenomenal place! Pato and Ivor are fantastic hosts, the food and service and customer care was wonderful and second to none. The setting...breath-taking. Absolutely loved this place, will go back and would recommend it to anyone who likes unique comfortable lodges, in remote, pristine and untouched areas of the world without sacrificing comfort. 2 thumbs way up!

From, location to service to food and ambiance, Aguas Arriba deserves high marks in every category. The views off of the from deck of the mountains and glaciers was awe inspiring. Aguas Arriba is set up to feel like home and it truly does. Some how even with the challenge of brining in by truck and boat all of their... More

IF you want a break from e-related technologies then this is a great place. On the other hand, if you want high speed internet access, find the sounds & smells of civilization comforting, and don't enjoy custom-tailored gourmet food, then this is NOT the place for you. My wife and I were referred to Aguas Arriba by our travel agency... More

This is truly such an amazing place to visit if you are in Patagonia. My girlfriend and spent 3 days trekking before we arrived at the AA lodge, so it was the ideal place to rest and relax before we travelled to the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the... More

What a disappointment. We came looking forward to a peaceful, remote retreat and instead were stressed out by dealing with a rude hostess and a room with zero sound isolation. The "premium suite" we rented called the Fitz Roy was on the first floor and had no sound isolation from the living room or from the room above. I don't... More
