The hotel is located very strategically right where the walk to Mount Fitzroy starts. The hotel itself is average with bathrooms that are a bit better than average. Beds are comfy, rooms are clean, and a good size. Breakfast is also provided and again is average with cereals, breads, sweets, and a bit of fruit. I also had a light... More

I booked this hotel expecting, based on their website, a much better service. Not only I did not get much of a customer service, but also found the hotel is in urgent need of some major maintenance job, specially in the rooms. Mine had mold spots all over the bed wall, as well as signals of repair works done for... More

This is a basic hotel in a village that was just a climbers shantytown only a few years ago, so don't expect more than that. But this IS El Chalten, meaning Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, etc! If you know what they are, almost any solid walls will do! "Progress" is coming probably all too quickly to this area, and the... More

when we arrived we were told we got an apt.! No one helped us locate the apt.which was in a different building. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The apt.was depressing, dark and smelly. The plaster wall next to the bed was disintegrating. There was one bare light bulb in the center of the room making visibility very... More

Great location to make your base for hiking in El Chalten. Nice hotel has an old rustic feel. Clean rooms are a little small, however are adequate for getting a good night's rest. The twin beds were comfortable and the room was warm. Plenty of hot water for a nice shower or bath after a wonderful day of hiking. Staff... More

We stayed here for 3 days with our Andes Adventures tour. Our room was right next to the pool and opened onto someones back yard. The room was fine, I liked that the floor was all tile so that we could do some laundry and not have to worry about drips on the carpet. The bathtub worked well, (not like... More

its an ok place to stay if you will be out for the day. the room is kind of small, and poorly ventilated even with the window open. th beds isn't the most comfortable ones so you won't spend time sleeping. the shower is ok, nothing to report. the restaurant isn't part although it's in the hotel. the wifi works... I stayed at the Kalenshen hotel for 3 days. Their are a number of reasons I am giving them a negative review. First they tried to move us to their cheaper, sister hotel, The Fitz Roy Hosteria, that smelled horrible without any compensation. After my friend bothered them for a while they gave us lesser rooms than we booked at... More

We were a little apprehensive at first after reading mixed reviews, but all that apprehension went away when we arrived Kalenshen at El Chalten. The main lobby is very clean with wood finishing. To our pleasant surprise, we were given an apartment. The apartment was perfect for our 5 night stay! It was spotless, really clean. And has a bedroom,... More

This hotel has a decent location but it has a terrible sewer smell coming from the bathroom drains. Must need a new septic tank. Also has a window between bedroom and bathroom so no privacy. Weird. Pool was dirty. Sauna not working. Decent breakfast. Friendly staff. Small odd rooms. Very hot rooms and windows wouldn't stay open unless wedged.
