We came to the hotel expecting a stay in one of the best placrs in El chalten where we can be pampered after long day hikes. The hotel's infrastructure is good, the lobby is beautiful and the front desk personnel are nice and have great English. However, during our stay there were few problems you would not expect to find... More

Overall, a good stay at the Poincenot. The rooms are nice (comfy bed). However, the first room we had smelt of smoke from the previous stay (we were promptly moved to another room) and the wifi was unreliable to a point where it wasnt even worth trying. That said, given where you are, its somewhat expected. Good stay in a... More

I liked this hotel it was well placed for both the Laguna torre and Laguna tres trails, good restaurants and supermarkets close by and the staff were freindly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast plentiful. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and fully recommend at least three nights in E Chalten. As others say the... More

The Poincenot, a relatively new hotel, is well located within easy reach of most of El Chaltén's shops and restaurants (those who have been to El Chaltén will now what this means!). It's main desk is manned 24 hours a day, and English is understood. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are spacious with a separate bathroom with bath, shower... More

Been there at January 2015, it was a very convenient stay. It is located at the northern end of the town and most of the main trekking paths start almost from the doors of the hotel. There is a supermarket nearby and several cafes, though the town is small anyway. I want to thank the staff for being helpful in... More

After a bad weather (1 night) of camping in Fitz Roy, me and my friend hiked back to El Chalten and tried to find a room for additional 2 nights. This hotel is located few meters from the start of Fitz Roy hike. I am very happy with the comfort level of the room, with the size of the bathroom.... More

We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Poincenot and were very pleased with the standard of the room, helpful staff and location near hiking trails. Easy walk to lots of cafes & restaurants. Wifi was a bit hit & miss, but I think that's expected in El Chalten. The packed lunch wasn't great, but the supermarkets don't have much to choose... More

This is a wonderful hotel in El Chalten, located right by the start of the Fitz Roy hike. Everything in El Chalten is walkable (you are coming here to hike, right?). Great room & bathroom. Quiet. Great view into the valley right across the street (not from the room, but from the breakfast area). Free breakfast.

We stayed three nights at this hotel. The rooms are nice and quite. The staff, especially Maria, was very helpful in answering our questions. The hotel is located within walking distance to everything, and just about everyone walks around the town. One day they had some trouble with the water system and we had cold showers, but they fixed it after... More

This has been the best hotel in over 2 months in South America! It is like an alpine chalet in design, the rooms are very spacious and the beds are sooooo comfortable. Duvets and mattress toppers - 3 superb nights sleep. Just what you need after a tough days hiking. The showers are really powerful and the water is super... More
