Comfortable mattress, warm bedroom, hot shower, cosy kitchen, awesome view, cool owners with expertise in trekking, climbing, cooking and any local activity you might ever want to do. All you need after a hard day of trekking in Chaltén. Qualification, five grinning faces: =D=D=D=D=D

This was a very random booking as I decided to spend 3 days trekking in El Chalten the night before arriving. It turned out to be the most welcoming place I stayed at in Argentina. La Guanaca is a small family lodge with 5 rooms, owned by couple Marcelo and Victoria who moved away from the hustle of Buenos Aires... More

Nice and cozy, Vicki and Marcelo were really nice to me. Vicki helped me sorted out some Hotel booking problem in El Calafate, reserved Bus ticket from Calafate Puerto Natales. Marcelo had some good columbian coffee to share with me, hmmm.. Especially I had spent a very nice new year eve with the couple and their friend after a tired... More

The hotel room was small, but cozy. Victoria, the hostess, put her heart in the decoration. The dark green wall, light orange pillows, and smoke grey quilts. When I first enter the room the heating was warm enough to chase away the cold outside. Clean towels, wooden side table... I fell in love with it immediately. There is a small... More

My husband and I got some much-needed rest here after a long day of travel. The husband-wife team who runs Guanaca were very friendly and welcoming -- some of the nicest people we've met in the country. The rooms are not fancy, but everything was clean and our room (#2) had a unexpected view of Fitz Roy. The shared kitchenette... More

I stayed 2 days in La Guanaca and thouroughly enjoyed it. The room was so appealing with its lots of sun, tasteful decor and overall Mediterranean feeling that I instantly fell in love with it. The hosts are welcoming and cheerful, the water is hot, the breakfast is served in a restaurant next door. It was usual tosts, jam and... More

We spent 5 days at La Guanaca and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Not only is El Chalten a very cool little windy town but Victoria, the owner of La Guanaca is a brilliant host. We had the first room at the top of the stairs which was brilliant. Lots of natural light, well decorated, it's own bathroom and a view of... More

It was pretty cold and snowy when we stayed in El Chalten. La Guanaca is very rustic and cute (probably fine in summer), but way tooo cold in winter. They put another small radiator in the room which would dry our shoes if we put them next to it but didnt warm the room at all. Bathroom was freezing (but... More

The room is real tiny without any fresh air. The only way to get some is to open the window at the bathroom but than you will share your room with many many flies. The curtains doesn't do their job at all and lots light is hitting you early in the morning. Already realized that breakfast in Argentina is not... More

We took a chance after reading only the one review, and were very happy with these accommodations. Victoria and her husband are friendly and welcoming and have created a very nice accommodation with a lovely artistic decor. The kitchen is very nice with a seating area, so is great for travelers who want to be self sufficient and prepare their... More
