A great little B&B quite close to the start of the mount Fitzroy trail. Shoutout to the AMAZING shower, felt so luxurious and welcome after the previous place in Calafate. If you twisted my arm for something negative is say the wifi is essentially non-existent, but I suspect that's the case all over Chalten. Personally, I'd recommend to look at... More

El Chalten is a tiny town. El Barranco offered more than adequate lodging: clean, new, and spacious. The staff was helpful. The only challenge is that the wifi is not good but that is more of an issue of the small town's access to fast broadband than the hotel itself. Location wise, well there is no bad location since the... More

After a miserable first night, I ended up booking a double room with a queen bed and my friends a cabaña. Reasons why I loved it 1. Hot fresh showers with fluffy clean towels 2. Great wifi access 3. Flat screen tv in the double room 4. Good fruit selection at breakfast 5. Friendliest staff ever!!! 6. Laundry! But fresh... More

Stayed 4 nights at Posada El Barranco in the cabin for two in El Chalten. The cabins are exceptional. Super clean, well heated, excellent kitchen with everything you need to eat in. The location is excellent, one block off the main road, close to supermarkets, restaurants etc. The location is also very close to all the trails. This was my... More

I really enjoyed staying here because I had a room that was clean, comfortable and quiet. I could easily walk to the local restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. After the 23km hike to Cerro Fitz Roy, you need this sort of place to relax!

Rooms were very modern, warm and clean. Positioned behind Main Street centre of town (2 minutes distance). Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Only negative was the breakfast. They serve you a few slices of toast and a piece of cake. No buffet continental breakfast that you can choose. Option of self service for orange juice and cereal but that's it.... More

What a little gem! My married daughter, and I reserved rooms here while visiting El Chalten to hike the Laguna de los Tres trail. The rooms and public areas are attractively and simply decorated. The morning complimentary continental breakfast was more impressive than many others that I've had, and the staff was most helpful. I was asked if there was... More

We stayed 2 nights at El Barranco. We were lucky that there was only one other guest when we were there because the walls are paper thin. The rooms are outfitted like a prison cell (no furniture except for the bed). The worse part was that the flat sheet covering the mattress was clearly too small for the size of... More

My wife and I tried to book the cabanas for 5 nights but first night was unavailable, so we stayed in hotel 1st night. Room very clean and shower very warm and welcoming. We moved to cabanas afterwards and it was very well equipped. Very warm, so much so my wife felt need to turn it down. Very rustic and... More

My husband and I stayed at El Barranco in March and were lucky enough to meet one of the owners, Sylvana. She gave us travel advice, tips on great restaurants and activities, and she even joined us for dinner and drinks during our time there. We did the Fitroy hike amongst others and fell in love with El Chalten. It... More
