The hostel has the best location very close to the trekking paths, but that's about it. Extremely noisy, anti social, nothing is included in the price (no breakfast, wifi is horrendous if it ever works), beds are ok, the staff look depressed and are not very knowledgeable about anything. We were just there for 2 nights to hike the Fitz... More

This hostel was the worst I've stayed in in South America. No breakfast, the wifi doesn't work, bad hiking advice. The staff acted like they didn't care, and nothing was free. During the low season it may be your only choice, but avoid it if you can.

The location of the hostel is great. The rooms are OK. You are not paying for top facilities, but the beds were particularly rickety (a roommate fell while climbing to her bed). The internet connection is poor at best, but I believe that is not the hostel fault. The staff, however, was not very helpful. If you asked something you... More

We stayed at the hostel for two nights and it was in the best location and had a lot to offer its tourists. The hostel was about a 5 minute walk to the entrance of Mount Fitz Roy and next to a grocery store and place to buy camping equipment. There was hot water (perfect after a day of hiking)... More

Hostel is in a perfect location, nice eating area and the shower pressure is awesome. A friend I was travelling with however got a bad case of bed bugs and the general cleanliness of the whole place isn't too great. Staff weren't very helpful either.

And it was great. Private bath with lots of hot water. Rooms were serviced so kind of like being in a hotel at a much lower cost. Staff were OK. Breakfast minimal but there is a restaurant with decent food. Location was close to hiking trails and the bus to/from El Calafate drops off and picks up at the door.

I had originally planned not stay here for four nights but left after two. Lacks any sort of hostel vibe. The place is huge so it is impossible to meet people. The kitchen is tiny and you have to ask for utencils, they obviously want people to just eat in there restaurant instead of cooking. On the plus side it... More

I liked the vibe in Rancho Grande, it is better than a typical hostel. However, the internet was very slow and it was very busy. I was there in peak season, so that's why it was so busy. I ended up finding other places for internet. The rooms were well kept and the bathrooms were as well (except for some... More

I stayed there with my boyfriend in a 4 people room for 3 nights. There is a 15 minute walk from the center - no taxis in town. The beds were OK but the kitchen is super small, filthy and has little cookwear. Another problem is the fact that the toilets that belong to the restaurant are combined with the... More

Stayed here for one night and planned to do another night when we got back from trekking in the park, but we decided to find another place for when we got back. The best thing about this hostel was the people working at the front desk they were very friendly. Other than that the room was a basic and the... More
