We stopped in at the Dragon Inn this weekend on an overnight stay in Crickhowell. When we arrived we were promptly shown to a table and immediately served our drink of choice. I ordered the 8oz Welsh Burger for my main meal and my wife ordered the Beef Stroganoff. The food is prepared and cooked fresh and we only waited... More

I stayed in the Dragon Inn this past weekend with my family while attending the Abergavenny Food Festival. We stayed in the family suite (room 20) and while there were undoubtedly several positives (the size of the suite, the standard of decoration and the food in the restaurant) there were unfortunately a number of negatives as well. This has to... More

We, 7 friends, have just returned from spending two nights at the Dragon Inn, Crickhowell and we had a wonderful time. The welcome was great; staff were very friendly and efficient, hotel was clean in all areas in spite of the ongoing refurbishments. The food was very good, breakfast and evening meal and very good value for money. The staff... More

We had a lovely family meal here on Saturday night; 9 of us including children to celebrate my mum in law's 70 th birthday. The food was delicious, the lamb chops and the monkfish are to be recommended! We had to wait a little while for our mains but they were very busy and had a party of 20 in... More

We needed an overnight stop with meal, in this part of Wales and this hotel fitted the bill. A tiny car park behind the hotel, immediate attention by pleasant , though busy, manager. Shown to No 1 room newly decorated. Two singles pushed together made a vast double. Smart new bathroom and shower in the bath. A very good evening... More

We've been to the Dragon quite a few times over 15 years, (mainly due to its excellent location) with a variety of experiences. Our latest visit last week points to it being on the up again. Some recent refurbs in the dining area are really good and the food was really superb, both in the evening and at breakfast. There... More

Stayed on a Saturday night whilst attending a wedding at The Manor, we found the room to be very clean, very comfortable and very welcoming with everything you could need. Alas we didn't really spend much time at the inn but would love to come back one day to stay at a more leisurely pace. I did think for the... More

Hello, Many Thanks for your review and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. Re: the breakfast, our menu states that the prices shown for the cooked breakfast are for non residents and as a guest you could have had a full breakfast or similar included in your room rate. Please accept my apologies that obviously this was not... More

Amazing customer service and food was great. There was a confusion with our order at first so one of our main arrived 5 minutes later but to be honest it didn't bother us at all. Waiter was very apologetic and the discount we were offered was more than what we thought was fair so we paid more than they asked.... More

The bar staff are very friendly and welcoming and the evening meals where delicous, I would ask for slightly better veggie options but the quaility of the offerings is fantastic, top chef and staff! Keep up the good work guys

Under new ownership , our room was recently renovated to a high standard . Huge bathroom , massive comfortable bed . There is a large beer garden which actually is a garden for once with grass and plants . Breakfast is excellent , the other meals looked very good although we didn't eat there .Reasonable value at peak holiday time... More
