I have been here several times but was a little disappointed today. 1, Laverbread soufflé - absolutely faultless. 2, I had the duck salad - salad consisted of mixed lettuce leaves and some tomatoes, the warm duck was placed upon very very cold cranberry sauce - had the salad contained cucumber, onion and perhaps some warm potatoes along with the... We booked the Dragon Inn for a one night stopover following attending a wedding in a nearby hotel. After the ceremony which took place in Abergavenny we checked in before going to the reception. We were given a warm welcome and shown to a lovely room with a really comfy bed. The following morning we were served with a lovely... More

Great hotel. Brilliant restaurant with good food and wine, a bustling happy atmosphere and outstanding service. Excellent hotel room (Room 1) - big, with ensuite bathroom and windows on two sides - even has natural light in the bathroom. Very nice big towels, posh toiletries - the works. Good breakfast in the morning. Sunday papers in the sitting area. And,... More

We booked a walking break just so my husband and I could have some talking and walking time together. It was such a lovely surprise to see how smart the hotel looked from the outside and indeed the whole of the small town itself. Some excellent places to eat and drink here and you can either go for a short... More

The Dragon was a real find for us. We wanted a hotel that we could walk from up into the Black Mountains and we certainly did. We stayed in the family room in a separate building which had a separate children's room, 2 televisions, one with an XBOX a small table and a kitchenette with fridge, kettle and microwave. The... After some gentle hill climbing in the area on Christmas day I looked in during the afternoon hoping for a cup of tea. They were in full swing with Christmas lunches but were totally welcoming. It would have been so easy (and reasonable) for them to say "Sorry but we're only doing booked Christmas lunches today" but they seemed genuinely... More

We recently stayed here as we had a family wedding in the area and we booked through late rooms. We weren't disappointed with any part of our stay. The room we were in - 12 - is in the main pub building up in the eves of the pub and was very quirky and quaint. Both me and my husband... More

This place used to be a run down hotel in Crickhowell but as it's been fully refurbed my wife and I decided to stay there for the evening. The hotel was absolutely amazing with the the food being above excellent. I used to live in Crickhowell and trust me this is one of the best places to stay in this... More

Nice pleasant rooms, exciting access to the parking. In the main building the top floor is not well suited to a 2 metre son, but he coped without any unintended unconsciousness. Floors (and bed apparently) quaintly sloped. Nice and clean, well looked after, most things felt new. Food at breakfast was good - buffet cold stuff and the hot stuff... More
