Didn't stay here as I live only 45 minutes away. Been going there for decades but haven't been there for nearly four years as I have been abroad, but went today for lunch with my wife and small son. On entering...nothing has changed - and thank goodness for that!! (Don't ever be tempted to 'bring up to date!). Warm, friendly... More

Myself my husband and our wedding guests stayed here for 3 nts and it was fabulous. The staff are wonderful and sam and steve always make you feel at home. The food was delicious and offered lots of choice considering we were there for a few nights. We will definately be returning again and again it never disappoints.

I thought I would give this hotel in Crickhowell ,Wales another try since my last visit a few years ago. The accommodation is ok, a room in a converted stable block outside the hotel in the Yard space. Rooms are generally good with a bathroom, but very little in the way of toiletries and a plastic cup to drink from.... More

We have stayed at the Bear Hotel so many times before, and it never ever fails to impress, the food is exceptional, I really don't know how they do it, the Bear is always rammed, and as a restaurateur myself, I know how difficult it is to keep such a high standard going, but they do. There is always the... More

Being loccal to the area I have eaten in the Bear a large number of times. The food has always been outstanding, as has the service and the choice at the bar. The wine list is comprehensive making it ideal for anything from an evening bar meal to a special occasion. All in all it is a very special pub,... More

We chose The Bear Hotel in Crickhowell as it was convenient to our night stop in Llangors. Thank goodness we did: what a wonderful gastro pub with an excellent menu, excellent facilities and very pleasant, attentive and highly professional staff. We all chose three-courses and enjoyed every mouthful. We would definitely go again; so should you if you're in the... More

This is a lovely coaching inn, very friendly staff and we stayed in no 10 a deluxe room that was clean, modern, well equipped and generally lovely. We ate at the restaurant which I have decided to describe as average/ good. I had fish pie which lacked fish ( the odd skinny flake and I found one tiny prawn but... More

Called in spontaneously to The Bear on way from Brecon just after Christmas. Lovely festive ambience. Have dined here before in the restaurant which was excellent. Despite being packed at peak time on Sunday lunch we found a table in the bar. We were all so impressed and can't praise enough the fantastic service and quality of food we received.... More
