Bryan and Kathy were really kind with us, warm welcome and we felt like at home. They have a small lovely dog Minnie, my wife is allergic, no problems with that, rooms are as clean and polite over than expected. Nice garden views, really well mantained, extremelly fantastic breakfast, even for vegans, a king size bed in family room would... More

Very warm welcome where owners Kathy & Brian sat chatting with us having tea in their lovely garden when we arrived. This was not all intrusive & they both really interesting people to talk to. Lovely home and very clean, with lots of personal touches in the rooms, such a bowl of fruit & plenty of sachets for hot drinks.... More

My husband and I had a lovely overnight in this appealing Welsh town. Kathy and Brian Brookshaw run a fine B & B with many thoughtful details in place and a terrific breakfast. (The English breakfast has come of age: in this case, omelettes with smoked salmon, home-made Muesli, stewed fruit). Our hosts were going to sing in a local... More

Gwyn Deri proved to be the perfect place for me and my two walking friends to explore both Crickhowell and the Brecon Beacons. Hosts Brian and Kathy made us all feel really welcome and their hospitality was fantastic - starting with the tea and cakes on arrival! The breakfasts were varied and sumptuous and really set us up for a... More

The room was spacious and very modern. The local advice was greatly appreciated for dinner - sending us to The Bear. The breakfast in the morning was just what we needed as cyclists who were just setting off to climb the Black Mountains. I would definitely recommend the lava bread which was new to me but a great addition to... More

Friendly and generous hosts, Brian & Kathy even offered to help out with some desperately overdue laundry. Hot breakfasts were select from menu affairs typical of UK B&Bs with a great selection of local produce as well as cereals, etc. Rooms were clean & comfortable although seemingly thin walls mean sound travels around a bit more than you may prefer... The owners Kathy and Brian run an excellent establishment. I had a very comfortable, tastefully decorated/furnished room with a good ensuite bathroom. The high quality was reflected throughout my experience at Gwyn Deri. My hosts were both friendly and attentive. I was visiting the area for the first time to "walk the Beacons", and was able to make use of... More

Kathy and Brian Brookshaw are generous and attentive hosts. From the tea with home-made cake on arrival, home-made preserves and a wide range of breakfast items including fresh fruit salad, and advice on walks, one could not ask for more. We stayed in the family suite (2 double rooms and bathroom between these) which was very comfortable indeed. So peaceful,... More

Thanks Brian and Kathy for a wonderful stay. You were so helpful and caring, we felt welcome and relaxed within moments of arrival. Tea and home made cakes to greet us, a comfy lounge, clean, spacious room and a delicious breakfast. Helpful advice on local walks, even the loan of maps. We will come back!

I was greeted with a very warm welcome with tea and home made cake. My room was warm clean and bright with ensuite shower room and the bed very comfortable. Tea coffee and biscuits were also provided in the room. Kathy and Brian were happy to advise on local places to visit and I look forward to coming back soon.
