This hotel Is set in beautiful grounds in a beautiful area of Wales. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room, Swansea Suite was clean, comfortable well presented, but in keeping with the building. The food was very good, well presented and reasonably priced.

We had the pleasure of staying at this unique, properly dog friendly, country house hotel whilst visiting relatives near Builth Wells. The property has a wealth of history as it was once the private home of Lord Swansea, it is set in a truly spectacular setting with well kept gardens which are a credit to the groundsmen. Our room (11)... More

A superbly situated characterful property overlooking a tree studded lawn to the clear and fast flowing river. We loved it, the dog loved it (we chose the place on the basis that it was dog friendly). The rooms are a little tired with some redecoration and repair needed but it didn't detract too much from our enjoyment of a laid... More

Beautiful setting, historic building, high standards and caring staff. A weekend at Caer Beris did more to recharge my batteries than I could have hoped. Our spacious room overlooked the river and distant hills. Close to great outings to red kites at Rhyader and Eden Valley Lakes. No hesitation in commending this hotel. Well worth a long drive.

Recent stay for a 4 day golf break. Lovely setting with great gardens and a river running through the grounds. The restaurant serves quality food. My party ate off a set menu, however all the dishes were taken off the main menu. The bar, whilst a little small is adequately stocked. The rooms are varied, my own room was a... More

Recently spent two nights at Caer Beris for a friends wedding. The manor house stands in beautiful grounds with the river running through and it would be a great place if you're looking for somewhere quiet place to stay. The building does creak and the radiators gurgle in the night, but then its an old building so expected. The room... More

We had such a great time at a wedding here this weekend: great people, amazing gardens, yummy food, pretty rooms. We had such an amazing time walking around the beautiful gardens and walking by the river, the lilly pond is so pretty and croquet on the lawn, it was like a E M Forster novel. Very safe too as we... This is a beautiful old manor house now a hotel on the banks of the River Irfon. The taster meal was amazing with so much care taken over the presentation of each course.Service was great and the room was very comfortable. For nature lovers there is reputed to be a family of otters living near the river. I can thoroughly... More

An absolute delight at every level. Warm welcome, beautiful room with river view, attention to detail and particular requests met promptly and well. The riverside gardens are of considerable size, peaceful and very relaxing. All staff were helpful and very polite and the head waiter and chef delightful and keen to get feedback. Breakfast and evening meals were of very... More

It's a lovely old half timbered manor hiding at the top of a long drive through neatly pruned trees above a broad peaty fish filled river. The rooms are large, the furniture country house style and the main dining room is a panelled room with dark furniture. Organised- disorganised you tell me. First contact I rang to change my booking... More
