This was my first visit to Llanwrtyd Wells and The Drovers Rest. An absolute Jewel nestled with in the beautiful countryside of Mid wales. Service was very good and very friendly, and the food was delicious. I was delighted and impressed to hear that the meat and vegetables were sourced locally. I've heard lots of good things about The Drovers... More

The food was to die for. The meal could not be faulted. The restaurant itself needs to make it's mind up wether it's a cafe or a restaurant. Sugar bowl on table wasn't what you'd expect when your paying top dollar for good food. Also the service wasn't great. I'm not saying it was terrible but it just wasn't great.... More

Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your meal. We leave the sugar bowls on the table as more of our customers are having hot beverages that require sugar through out their meals. We have taken this on board and we will make a change to the sugar bowls. As for the vehicles our customers arrive... More

Thank you for your review, noting your problem and looking at the original order that came through to the kitchen, you ordered your steaks medium rare. Medium rare means the meat is cooked with a reddish tinge, for medium the meat is cooked slightly pinkish and for well done thoroughly cooked with no sign of pinkness. For future reference it... My husband and I visited the Drovers Rest with my elderly mother, to celebrate her birthday. The bar area is cosy and welcoming, ideal to enjoy a pre dinner drink whilst ordering your meal. Our meal was of the highest quality, the young lady who served us was efficient and friendly and Peter put himself out to ensure that we... More

We called here on the off chance while breaking up our long journey from North Wales to South Wales. We arrived very late in the afternoon and were informed they had stopped serving lunch. However, Chef was prepared to serve snacks and quickly russled up some omlettes & chips, ham & chips with chutneys and some ham sandwiches with a... More

My husband and my self made a last minute decision to eat lunch time today. We saw the Drovers and thought we might get a snack and coffee there. It was quite late around 1 45. We had a warm welcome and were stunned at the extensive menus and specials that were on offer. Our meal of a mains and... More

First impressions I was slightly unsure about the decor and size of this establishment, however we were soon made very welcome, the bottle of wine was ok, and bearing in mind this is a tea room during the day I have to say the food and service was very good, dont expect bistro food here, this is good wholesome homemade... I booked a table on a Friday afternoon for the later evening at 7.30 - 8.00pm. However on entering the Drovers we were greeted with looks of agast. It soon became apparent that our booking had not been entered into the booking book. Although it was taken by the owner! We were advised however that this would not be a... More

The booking was made with us The Drovers Rert Restaurant and was logged in our diary for 7.30/8.00pm but they did not turn up .We can only presume they went to the wrong restaurant which is why the people there did not know about their booking .We waited for them to arrive for well over the time allocated . We... More

We called into the Drovers for a drink in the morning, before we went for a walk. There was a lot of snow around the week we were in the area and after a shortish walk of an hour or so we decided to go back for tea and scones which we had noticed earlier. We were very impressed with... More

It was my second stay at Drover's rest while on cycling break with friends. Once again we had a wonderful time, place is very chilled and homely. Peter and staff are very friendly, accommodating and relaxed. And food was divine! A rarity in a deep Wales! Highly recommended!
