We ate at the Drovers last night as part of a 50th birthday celebration. The restaurant looked so welcoming from the outside with low lighting and beautifully laid tables. The meal we had was unbelievably good. All home made, skilfully presented and plenty of it. The waiting staff were excellent. All in all, a lovely evening out, we really enjoyed... More

Marvellous location in a fantastic friendly town. But thats where it ends. Peter James is the owner of the Droves Rest which provides accommodation with overflow accommodation at High View House. We booked High View House during our stay this time last year at the Real Ale Wobble for this year's event. As we know Llanwtryd Wells gets busy this... More

Sorry for all your bad feelings, it is very hard to respond to a booking with no name, no address, no telephone number and of course no deposit, even though you verbally booked over a year ago. As for myself Peter James sorting out the problem, you stated to me that you had a room available for you (that slept... More

We returned to The Drovers having made an annual trip to Llanwrtyd for many, many years. We found a perfect mix of the old high quality values we have come to expect and some new, very welcome improvements - the new terrace is fantastic and a wonderful place to sit and have afternoon tea. Peter and his team once again... More

This was my first visit to Llanwrtyd Wells and The Drovers Rest. An absolute Jewel nestled with in the beautiful countryside of Mid wales. Service was very good and very friendly, and the food was delicious. I was delighted and impressed to hear that the meat and vegetables were sourced locally. I've heard lots of good things about The Drovers... More

The food was to die for. The meal could not be faulted. The restaurant itself needs to make it's mind up wether it's a cafe or a restaurant. Sugar bowl on table wasn't what you'd expect when your paying top dollar for good food. Also the service wasn't great. I'm not saying it was terrible but it just wasn't great.... More

Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your meal. We leave the sugar bowls on the table as more of our customers are having hot beverages that require sugar through out their meals. We have taken this on board and we will make a change to the sugar bowls. As for the vehicles our customers arrive... More

Thank you for your review, noting your problem and looking at the original order that came through to the kitchen, you ordered your steaks medium rare. Medium rare means the meat is cooked with a reddish tinge, for medium the meat is cooked slightly pinkish and for well done thoroughly cooked with no sign of pinkness. For future reference it... My husband and I visited the Drovers Rest with my elderly mother, to celebrate her birthday. The bar area is cosy and welcoming, ideal to enjoy a pre dinner drink whilst ordering your meal. Our meal was of the highest quality, the young lady who served us was efficient and friendly and Peter put himself out to ensure that we... More

We called here on the off chance while breaking up our long journey from North Wales to South Wales. We arrived very late in the afternoon and were informed they had stopped serving lunch.
