We stayed at Glen Usk for a Mid week break with our Rambling Group and travelled by coach. We felt that we had excellent value for money and were well looked after. The outside of the hotel was welcoming with a newly restored canapied verandah holding hangng baskets and furnished with comfortable tables and chairs. Our rooms were clean and... more

Used this for a business trip to mid wales. Hotel is old in appearance. The outside and inside could do with a refurbishment. Recption and check in was efficient. The room was surprisingly large with 3 single beds for a solo traveller. No Sky TV, just normal analogue. Bathroom was carpeted, so had a slight musty smell from damp. The... more

We were on the 3rd floor - shower didn't always work. Comfy beds. Staff friendly but disorganised in the dining room. Food varied from ok to good. Tables in dining room far too small for 4 people. Didn't have the bed- room cleaned once while we were there for a week. Very dirty marks on carpets - off-putting. Central location.... more

I stayed at the Glen Usk for one night whilst in the area on business and was pleasantly surprised. Yes the decor is a little dated and some of the furnishings are well worn, but its extremely clean and the twin room I stayed in was spacious. The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of town. The... more

We stayed for 1 night (fortunately) on a National Holidays weekend away(Shrewsbury-Hereford). Llandrindod Wells is a backwater and the hotel had seen better days. Decor was from mid-1970's with a substantial amount of wallpaper coming away from the walls and stains on the ceiling. Our room was situated at the back of the hotel near to pigeon alley who had... more

Sorry this hotel was passed its sell by date!!! badly in need of a refurbishment .I know its a budget hotel but a tin of paint and a few rolls of wallpaper would make a big big difference .I can say the bathroom was clean and bed linen white and smelled of bleach but the overall picture was not for... more

Don't be put off by the low prices, this is a real bargain. Our first sight of the hotel was from their car park and it looked grim, but once inside we were greeted by a very pleasant Welsh lady who effieciently dealt with our booking and sent us off to our room which was pleasantly furnished, though a little... more

Dont expect luxury here....At £20 per person, per night ensuite B+B,this is a "Budget Bargain".Creaky floorboards throughout, eastern european cleaners/staff, who do not know what a duster is.This must have been a fantastic hotel in the 50,s and 60,s,but it has sadly been neglected since then. Strangely though, breakfast was great, and the large dining room was in great shape. It is the only part... more
