We've stayed here for the last 4/5 years, but this year was made even better when Sue cooked a fantastic 3 course meal for us on Friday night, (with hardly any notice of 'booking'). We were in a different room to the usual, but this was just as comfortable & clean. Please don't hesitate to book here - the atmosphere,... More

I was pleasantly surprised that Jeff remembered my surname even though I had only stayed once before 6 years ago! We stayed here just for one night, New Year's Eve whilst visiting relatives nearby. We received a very warm and friendly welcome. This is a true family run guest house. Service was just right, efficient and not overly intrusive. Highly... More

I've stayed here lots of times and its is always excellent. Great breakfast, welcoming, helpful hosts. Will definitely continue to visit Highland Moors. Wonderful historic house, tastefully modernised, and brilliant parking.

We were made to feel very welcome by Sue from the time we called to book to the time we left. The guest house was full of character, warm, comfortable and homely. We bought our dog Jess and were pleased to find that there was a nice big field for her to have a good run around. The breakfast was... More

An unexpectedly large B&B, a great Victorian building full of large rooms & high ceilings a little way out of the main town. My father and I stayed when seeing friends in the area and he booked it on a combination of location, cost and recommendation. The huge twin room was clean, in good repair, had a good if somewhat... Overnight stay for a golf tournament. Owners really welcoming and friendly. Breakfast freshly cooked and very very nice. No faults to be found, will stay again! Nothing was too much trouble. Building full of character, very reasonable price

Stayed for a night. Owners were very nice and pleasant, but the rooms were a disappointment. VERY tired and dated, old faded looking bedsheets, ripped carpets and dust on the worktops. Bathroom and shower area nice and clean though. Great views from the rooms! It's a lovely building, just felt it needed money spending on updating the rooms. Especially for... More

This is a surprising review to us as we have repainted all the rooms except one in the last 5 years. The linen is all Windermere Salmon or the equivalent in blue and many duvet covers bought new this season. There is some carpets to be replaced though and we're waiting for a quote from the underfloor insulators to be... More
