We stayed one night & were glad to be leaving. Our room was dank, cramped & old; the satchet of hot chocolate expired in 2014. You could feel the springs in the hard mattress. You couldn't maintain a steady water temperature in the shower & the waste was blocked & very slow to run away. This was a cash only... More

Thank you for your views, customer feedback is always welcome. That being said I would like to address some of your points. 1. The Tara is an old building, built in the 1890's, if this is not the type of accommodation you like to stay in simply go for the more boutique style accommodation. Most of our guests return year... As a shopfitter travelling across the country I have stayed at a lot of places. Tara hotel is definitely one of the better ones. Nice friendly people, clean and tidy rooms and an excellent breakfast at a very good price. Will definitely use again when next in this area and recommend to others.

I stayed at this hotel on the night of 31st of December and it was really friendly Steve and Pamela are really welcoming when you arrive to the hotel. When I woke up in the morning the breakfast was too hard to rate because it was that brilliant with lovely cooked eggs and bacon. With fresh coffee when you request... More

My friend and I had to stay in Fishguard overnight and chose the Tara Hotel. I feel I must comment on the hotel in this time of austerity. For the money we paid it suited our needs. Very welcoming and comfortable with a very pleasant host. The breakfast was cooked well and good produce used. Thankyou.

Stopped overnight here on our way to Ireland via the Stenaline ferry with the wife and kids. We were in the family room (four poster bed and a set of bunks) and we were very pleased with it. We are not "B&B snobs" and understand that not everywhere we stay has to have a boutique feeling or the latest fashion... More

There are some positives to the Tara: it was fairly clean, the owners were pleasant and the decor, though twee, had character. It's also very close to the port, so ideal if you're catching the ferry the next day. But at £100 for a family (with breakfast) they really should have done better. There was no bath and the toilet... More

We are very surpised & disappointed by your review especially as we bent over backwards to accommodate your needs, you initially asked for a room only tariff of £80 but wanted breakfast when you arrived and so you were told the price and were happy with it. You inspected the room prior to occupation and said you were delighted with... More

I have stayed in Fishguard twice, in 2008 and 2009, and heartily recommend the Tara Hotel. Both of the ensuite twin rooms I stayed in were clean, cosy and well maintained. Steve and Pam are both very welcoming to their guests, and the breakfast provided is both tasty and ample, setting myself and my travelling companion up well for 12-plus... More
