A very enjoyable short break (birthday treat from daughter). A very interesting building. Turret room was very comfortable, ensuite a little small but totally adequate. The owners and staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the views great. A small hotel providing a good quality service in peaceful surroundings. Would certainly stay... more

Have just returned from a weekend at Tyr Graig. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The staff got the balance of attentiveness and privacy just perfect and I think that is an art. We ate in the restaurant both nights and enjoyed the meal both times. more

We stayed three nights at Ty'r Graig Castle from 29th April. Throughout our stay all the staff and the owners, Khalid & Janette, were extremely helpful and friendly. The entrance hall and staircase is a splendid example of the Victorian Gothic style; the stained glass windows are quite exceptional. The lounge, dining room and conservatory bar/eating area were spacious, brightly... more

I have never before had cause to write a poor review but there is always a first time and this is it. Having arrived at the hotel our first impression was one of deceitful advertising. We felt that the photographs we saw of the hotel were quite missleading. The en-suite was very small and the whole place had a very... more

I recently celebrated my 65th Birthday and my wife surprised me with a party at Ty,r Graig. I have to say i have never been to a hotel where the owners and staff have been as friendly and accommodating as Khalid & Janette we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The buffet was cooked to perfection by the chef Jackie who organised... more

Tyr Graig Castle is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. It's delightful in so many ways. The rooms are nicely decorated and have lovely finishing touches which really complete the effect. Our room had a TV with digital freeview, so plenty of crystal clear stations to choose from. The towels / sheets were clean and fresh, just... more

Hotel was nice but could do with updating in certain areas. Food choice was excellent and well presented, served in the conservetery which has a lovely view of the bay. The room was clean and tidy however there were holes in the sheets and towels were only replaced every two days which i have never come across in any hotel... more

Janette and Khalid are very open and friendly. We felt like they “should” be friends – very gifted people. The menu is on the website (which I think is helpful) and I had decided what to eat before we had arrived in Barmouth! The wine list offered a broad selection of wines and was great. The food was piping hot... more

Have just returned from a stay at eh Ty'r Graig Castle. We had a turrett room with a lovely view as long as you can ignore the camping/caravan site and council estate below. We had the smallest ensuite i have ever seen. It had some damp patches on the wall behind the toilet. Although the shower was good, it all... more

We enjoyed our stay in this very friendly hotel and the food was fantastic with a good selection of wine! We also had a fantastic sunset during our evening meal! The downstairs of the hotel was impressive, but we were a bit disappointed with our room. We booked a turret room with a sea view, the room was in need... more
