We stayed at the hotel for our honeymoon. We stayed for four nights with breakfast and dinner included. At a cost of £560. We paid an extra £60 for a superior room. It wasn't very superior! I would check with the hotel if you book to make sure you get one of the rooms with the high ceilings and bath... more

Castell Malgwyn have installed new power pumps to all nine of the bedrooms that previously suffered from low pressure. This investment provides excellent water pressure and flow to significantly improve the quality of showering in each room. 13 of the hotel's 17 bathroms have been renovated to meet guests' expectations of a modern white bathroom.

We stayed here with 2 dogs as this hotel offered 'dog friendly' accommodation. It’s true that the location of the hotel is very nice and there is a quite beautiful river running around the back that offers a nice walk. It is also beautiful building from the outside set in pretty grounds The place itself is far from any local... more

Castell Malgwyn has had its entire lobby and reception hall and main stairs re-decorated. Our aim is to provide a pleasant relaxed atmosphere and ambience. We want an informal, but well looked after style for guests, who treat the hotel as their country retreat. Dogs are welcome in the Library Bar and in the grounds. However, we expect guests to...

Stayed here last weekend as my girlfriend and I were invited to a wedding nearby. Must say that I do agree with some aspects of the other reviewers but on the whole our stay was quite pleasant. The building itself is clearly quite old, so creaky floorboards, olde-worlde architectural features and antiquated plumbing might be expected. Our room was on... more

We arrived to be greated by a wedding in full swing as we struggled with our bags and pram and was not offered any help as we had to climb two flights of stairs. The hotel is stuck in the 1970's and looks not to have had an update since with paint peeling , dirty carpets and uneven floors thorughout.... more

Well, i found the rooms in a very poor condition, the toilet looked like something from 1970s, the food however was very nice, the menu has a wide balanced choice. As for the staff, there was a strange little man with glasses behind the reception desk, he had a very scarry smile, also i noticed another staff member, a mature... more

Well there’s probably some truth in the previous review! I personally thought more along the lines of Fawlty Towers, but perhaps right about the Little Britain link. However, I don’t think you can take it too seriously, the owners and the staff we all really friendly and helpful and seemed to value the customers. The tenuous links to comedies about... more

Don't stay in the budget rooms! £65 a night and deffinatly the worst room i have ever stayed in anywhere in the world! I wish i'd taken photos. The hallway leading to the room had an odd camber on it. The carpet was covered in leaves, there were piles of 'things' with black sheets covering them. Countless discarded toiletries on... more
