We stayed for one night and had a great time in this very sociable place. Breakfast was the best we had on the island and the room although small was fine. We shall return! more

Having read the review by Johnny91, I feel that I out to comment on our own experience of the place. My wife and I had lunch here in mid-September as it features in both the Rough Guide and Lonely Planet guidebooks. Our initial impressions were of a wonderful waterside setting but a car park that had rubbish (such as old... more

We didn't stay here, but after reading the reviews we drove across from our hotel for some lunch. The view is truly wonderful, but everything went downhill the second we stepped in: When you walk in, the bar is right ahead of you, we asked if there was a table free for lunch, to which we got the exasperated reply... more

We loved out stay at the Stein. A wonderfully peaceful location with views looking out onto the bay. A surprisingly good room, much bigger than expected, with 2 windows overlooking the sea. Bathroom was a bit dated but had a powerful shower. Someone had thought of everything you could possibly need - even down to cottonwool balls and Q-tips! There's... more

We revisited the Stein Inn after a gap of about 15 years and thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay. It would have been 3 days but I didn't book in time so, you need to book early at busy periods. Quaint system of having alcoholic drinks at the dining table caused, apparently, by the youth of the serving staff who... more

location was excellent, I loved being able to sit outside and enjoy a lovely scampi washed down with a cold beer. room was above the bar but this didn't prove to be problem. It was well equipped no complaints from me there either. Breakfast was excellent. more

I tried to book accommodation at the Stein Inn for 2 nights but it was fully booked so instead we stayed at the Hillside B&B in Waternish which is a bit further along the road. We ate at the Stein Inn one evening which we visited because they are listed in the Michelin Pub Guide. When we arrived I told... more

Surely one of Britain's most spectacularly located and remote accommodation providers, this claims to be the Isle of Skye's oldest inn, in an 18th century building overlooking Loch Bay on the Waternish peninsula in the north west of this astonishing island. Reaching it involves a 7km drive (or walk) down a single track road with passing places and there is... more
