We spent 4 nights at the Pennyghael Hotel and had quite high expectations but like all Hotels, it had its good and bad points. The good stuff first: Pennyghael is situated on beautiful Loch Scridain and our room had a fabulous view. The place is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a TV, WiFi and our chosen option -... More

This review only relates to the restaurant. The menu was limited and did not change from one day to the next, with no 'specials'. Booking had to be made in advance despite the restaurant being far from full. The food was well cooked and presented but lacked imagination. On being asked about a sauce with the fish, the response was... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while looking up an old friend and in order to visit Iona. Pennyghael is actually well placed for exploring all of Mull as well as Ulva, Iona and Staffa. We absolutely loved this hotel ! Friendly, helpful owners and staff, the views down the loch are wonderful, the gardens are beautiful, the weather was... More

We spent three nights at the Pennyghael Hotel and dined there every evening throughout our stay . The menu may have been limited but the standard was excellent and the staff and proprietors were friendly and efficient. Our rooms were at the front of the hotel, facing the loch. They were roomy and comfortable , and spotlessly clean. This was... More

This hotel is very well-situated for exploring the Isle of Mull. It is and easy drive to both ends of the island and offers a peaceful, relax environment overlooking the Loch. Our room was spacious with a beautiful view and spotlessly clean. The hosts could not have been more helpful, offering very good tourist advice and checking on availability of... More

August 2015. The hotel is on a very quiet road overlooking the Loch. Even full the hotel is quiet and the meals are very good. So nice to have a restaurant and be done driving at the end of the day. Food was very nice and the hosts so nice and accommodating. The location was very central to the Island... More

We had Pine Cottage (self catering) attached to the hotel for a week. It was very well set up, comfortable, clean and warm and had brilliant views over Loch Scridain and on to Ben More. We ate several times at the hotel and the food and service were both excellent. It was also great that the property was dog friendly.... More

Beautiful location. Tony, Joy, Paul and staff do everything possible to make your stay comfortable, including booking attractions on the island. Bedroom was immaculate with all mod cons including bottled water. View was magnificent on a clear day. Breakfast options were very good and evening menu varied. All in all a good choice for exploring Mull and would recommend.
