We have just returned from Grimisdale once again and will definately be back. Our party of eight - 4 adults and 4 children stayed for 4 nights and all agreed that Grimisdale is by far the best b&b that we have stayed at hence the return visit. Our hosts Farky and Danielle gave us a warm welcome after our long... More

As pensioners we have stayed at many b and b guest houses and Grimisdale rates one of the best.A warm welcome ,clean and comfortable rooms, all very cosy and warm. The breakfasts were very good with a good choice of cereals and preserves.Nothing was too much trouble for our host who was very attentive to our needs. We would like to return in... We stayed 3 nights at Grimisdale and found it a clean and comfortable B&B. We had the Harris room where the ensuite bathroom includes a Jacuzzi and hydro-massage shower – great fun! Breakfast was good – porridge and range of preserves especially so. The setting on Loch Steisebat is wonderful, and the balcony in the guest lounge upstairs is a... More

At 100 pounds per night we expected something special. Warm welcome was as good as it got. Room was small and seemed unfinished. Tiny ensuite. Barely room to get into the shower. Way overpriced compared to our accommodation before and after. Wonderful location but 3miles away from dinner. Excellent meal at Rodel Hotel was the redeeming feature of our stay.Would... More

This is a built-for-purpose modern guest house, but everything is ‘just enough’. Our room was barely bigger than the double bed, with a sliding bathroom door that didn’t close properly. The thin walls meant we could hear the couple talking next door. The ‘guest lounge’ had two double settees close together at right angles, so once one couple was in... More

Lovely accomadtion, views from room are amazing. Having your own sitting area and balcony are great, espicially if weather is good. Bedrooms clean and comfortable, Shower is brilliant.! Owner is very friendly and helpful, polite and chatty but not intrusive of your space, and you can respect his privacy for him and his family. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and plenty... More

Hugely disappointed. We all were. £100 per night the most expensive on 2 weeks stay on the islands. When turning up the road to the B&B, the sign has the Scottish Tourist Board plagues blanked off with black tape, have they lost their Stars, I think so. Bedrooms feeling tired, wallpaper in bathroom peeling, guest lounge upstairs really not inspiring... More

I am sorry you were dissapointed with your stay, though you did not say anything at the time ? We have covered up the visit scotland sign as we no longer pay their extortionate fees, not for any other reason. There is a small corner of wallpaper that has started to come away in the bathroom in your room, hardly... More

A warm welcome to a lovely guest house within walking distance of the Harris/North Uist ferry, a well stocked local shop and a very good restaurant. Lovely views over the loch, especially from the guest lounge and dining areas. Good breakfast and a friendly, knowledgeable host.

Very good B&B overlooking a Loch. Very clean and the host very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast very good couldn't have asked for more. Anchorage restaurant in walking distance is a must for dinner. Great atmosphere all round.
