Stayed in a yurt at Blackhouse camping for 3 nights. We were welcomed by John who provided home made bread, and logs for the woodburner. The facilities were great and we were very sorry when it was time to leave. Others have commented on the distance from car to tent - We didn't find this excessive and not having cars... More

Spent 2 nights at this campsite and like others have pointed out didn't enjoy wheel barrowing all the kit up and down the hill. First pitch we took that could accommodate our tent was too boggy as the site is located in and around a series of rig and furrow. we had to move pitch which was no problem. Yes... More

We arrived on a miserable evening just catching the last of Hurricane Bertha, to be welcomed by John and Harvey and given a quick tour of the ample facilities. The complimentary loaf of bread was greatky appreciated We stayed in yurts with views across the water. The facilities were great, with the fire on we were warm quickly. Showers and... More

I stopped off for 1 night but wish I could have stayed longer. Great basic facilities. Friendly owners and all the other campers were fun and considerate. Not 5 star but that's no criticism. Fantastic location BTW.

I had been really looking forward to coming here after reading reviews, but I was very disappointed. The website and photos looked so appealing, but they are also deceiving! On arrival we were very surprised to find that there were around 12 cars parked up on the roadside and that cars couldn't get anywhere near the pitches due to the... More

Stayed 2 nights camping. On arrival we were met by Adrian who gave us the guided tour of the facilities. The pitches and occasional yurt are dotted around the site, most allowing you to be fairly private from your neighbours. We arrived after some heavy rain but didn't find the pitches too waterlogged. The site is on a hillside (pitches... More

We arrived quite late to the campsite, but were met by the lovely owners who showed us around. It is a very strange campsite in that you can't see any of the pitches! They are all hidden in the bushes, alas when we arrived the only pitches left were stony, burnt, sloped, boggy or on a sort of camber! It... More

A brilliant campsite with great facilities. When we first got there after travelling for 9 hours it was so nice to get such a warm welcome for Adrian and to be given a tour of the site. John, Harvey and Adrian have created a wonderful site where you can relax, see wildlife including seals, otters and eagles and just enjoy... More

Great place to stay - we ended up there for 10 days. The kids ran wild on the small loch beach and around the site, making friends and checking for new eggs from the chickens and counting the seals lounging on the rocks across the bay. We chilled out in our camp spot, feeling quite private because of the vegetation... More
