We stayed in several B&Bs during our week in the Hebrides and while they were all good, Lochedge was easily the best. The setting is lovely, the welcome warm and our room was spacious and exceptionally well appointed. The whole house has a definite sense of style. Fresh milk in insulated jugs in the fridge downstairs for tea and coffee... More

Just back from our trip to Skye Harris Lewis and then London and Lochedge was by far the best accommodation. It was like a 5 star Hotel with lots of little extras - homemade cake in your room each day, insect repellent wipes in the bathroom and above all very friendly host. Our Hotel in London was a 4 star... More

We stayed with Richard and Cindy for three nights and wish that we had stayed longer. Stylish, comfortable and welcoming our room had beautiful views over the loch, superb shower room, and delicious homemade cake instead of biscuits with the tea and coffee. The guest lounge and breakfasting room were both really inviting with views over the loch. Breakfasts gave... More

What can I say? We stayed in Harris for our one year wedding anniversary as part of an island hopping trip around the hebrides. Lochedge could not have been more perfect with a stunning location, immaculate, modern rooms and fantastic hosts! Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and although we didn't tale advantage, a packed lunch is also on... More

If I had a b&b I would want to run with like this. Richard seems to have brought together the best bits of a really nice hotel, with the informality and friendly feel of a great b&b. We had Room 1, spacious, calm, beautifully decorated, lovely bathroom. We loved spending time in the sitting room enjoying views of the loch,... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Lochedge. Everything about the accommodation is excellent and the breakfasts were wonderful and locally sourced too. Richard is welcoming and knowledgeable and is happy to supply information about places to visit, eat etc. We would definitely visit again if on Harris.

Received a nice welcome on arrival from Richard. The B&B has 3 rooms adjacent to each other on the upper floor. We were in the middle one, room 2. It has a double bed and an ensuite toilet and shower. I think this is the smallest of the rooms and although not overly spacious it is by no means cramped.... More

Lochedge is situated in a beautiful position and we initially booked because they offered evening meals. However they no longer do and the nearest restaurant is probably about a 15 minute drive away. We ate at the Harris Hotel on both nights which was very good. Having said that our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious -... More

Situated on the hillside overlooking a loch and mountains, this place is a gem. Richard - host and author of several guidebooks - is welcoming and very knowledgeable about Harris and Lewis. The weather was mostly foul, but it didn't matter as the house was warm, beautifully and simply decorated - our bathroom was white/chrome and glass throughout. There are... More

This is a wonderful place; perfectly located, modern and stylish accommodation and great hosts. Every last detail is considered - right down to the yummy 'daily cake'! Has to be one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in (and we've stayed in some great B&Bs). Can't recommend this place highly enough.
