Lochedge is situated in a beautiful position and we initially booked because they offered evening meals. However they no longer do and the nearest restaurant is probably about a 15 minute drive away. We ate at the Harris Hotel on both nights which was very good. Having said that our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious -... More

Situated on the hillside overlooking a loch and mountains, this place is a gem. Richard - host and author of several guidebooks - is welcoming and very knowledgeable about Harris and Lewis. The weather was mostly foul, but it didn't matter as the house was warm, beautifully and simply decorated - our bathroom was white/chrome and glass throughout. There are... More

This is a wonderful place; perfectly located, modern and stylish accommodation and great hosts. Every last detail is considered - right down to the yummy 'daily cake'! Has to be one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in (and we've stayed in some great B&Bs). Can't recommend this place highly enough.

It is difficult to write reviews where previous reviewers have covered all the positives and there is nothing to warn prospective guests about. This is a B&B of quality and all facets of Richard's operation are well thought out. One of the key functions of a B&B is to provide expertise on local features and attractions and as an author... Hi Val and Damain and many thanks for taking the time to write your lovely review. As yet we've not had another guest make us of the loch for their morning training swim, but given time, I'm sure we will. More

With some 50 years of travelling the UK and the wider world we have stayed in some remarkably good hotels and B & B's (as well as some bad ones) but Lochedge is up there amongst the very best, and I am including 5/6 star and boutique hotels amongst the comparators. If there is anything that hosts Richard and Cindy... More

Hi Diane and John and many, many thanks for your effusive review. We got a couple of ideas of how we can add a bit more sparkle to things next year by perhaps being abit more adventurous with our breads at breakfast - something to come back for? Well that and better weather! More

We have spent the last 5 years travelling about 5 weeks a year in B&Bs and small hotels across the world and both of us have voted this our favourite B&B. The setting and the house are just beautiful, the hosts are wonderfully warm, thoughtful and helpful but not in anyway intrusive. The beds were just so comfy and the... More

Lochedge is a great B&B. Modern building finished to a very high spec, the bedroom was beautifully furnished with handmade quilt covers and spacious bathroom. Gorgeous views over the water too. Breakfast was fantastic. My partner had the full cooked breakfast, whilst I tried the porridge as well as the veggie sausages and homemade hash browns. All tasted amazing and... More

Staying at lochedge is representing everything you can expect from wonderful Scotland. The location is stunning: on the shore of a sea loch with beautiful hills all around. The room is superb, great beds, a very convenient bath room and a spacious breakfast room and extra living room for the guests. All rooms are spotless and nicely and harmoniously decorated.... More

This B&B was my favourite place for our 9 night stay to Skye, Harris and the Highlands. I was super impressed with the wonderful finish to the house and thoughtfulness that had gone into really anticipating the needs of tourists to Harris. The house itself had a real Arts & Crafts feel to it, combined with an ecofriendly commitment and... More
