Its location confused our Sat Nav but a call to our hostess soon put us right The house is set in tranquil gardens and the bedrooms and public rooms are a cornucopia of antiques not least of our 120 year old bath - possibly the largest in Scotland!! Cosy and welcoming it was a perfect end to our busy trip... More

I was lucky enough to stay the suite at the Dower House Hotel this summer. The property itself is a short drive – not even 20 miles? – from Inverness which although a city, is akin to small High Street and not particularly interesting and certainly not worth staying in unless you are particularly fond of large hotel chains. (Driving... More

Beautiful, warm and very welcoming. A stunning garden and wonderful hosts. And the breakfast was the best in Scotland! Just how you imagine a B&B to be. Would recommend it 100 percent! Enjoy nature, good food and peace.

We spent one night at the Dower House and enjoyed every minute. The owners, Mena and Robyn, made it a great stay. With only 4 bedrooms, this is a small , charming hotel with lovely gardens. We had a great breakfast in a wonderfully furnished dining room. It's quiet and the rooms are well appointed.

Set at the end of a drive off the "main" road through Muir of Ord, the Dower House is very much a chocolate box location. The bedroom was very generously sized and very comfortable and being deep in the countryside really quiet and relaxing. There is no menu for the evening meal, but the standard of ingredients and cooking meant... More

It's something of a surprise to stumble upon the Dower House in Scotland as it looks like a an English country cottage. Set in its own beautiful, well maintained gardens, it is a beautiful, fairly large house with four bedrooms all with their own unique decor. If you are an art lover then you will enjoy some the mix of... More

This is a special place and quite unique. Only four bedrooms but all comfortable and very well furnished. (I have stayed several times and tried three of them.) Everything is done properly and the proprietors do everything they can to please - you only have to ask. The set dinners are very good and contrary to some reviewers views, fair... More

I couldn't fault the Dower House. It was very comfortable and clean with log fires and fresh flowers. The meal was first class - easily the best on our trip. There was attention to every detail of the food and drink. The bathroom furnishings were period - so maybe not for you if a power shower is your prime requirement,... More

The Dower House is undoubtedly a beautiful place to stay and is set in the most glorious gardens. We had an evening meal there and the food was very good, although expensive considering there was no choice. So why the disappointment? A feeling that the hospitality was measured to the penny. Maybe we were just unlucky on the day, but... More

We had three extraordinary dinners served to us by the great family that own and run the hotel. We had some of the best food I can remember. This plus very attentive and yet sensitive service made this a great place to visit.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Robyn puts a lot of thought and effort in to the no choice menu and it's always lovely for him to know that our guests thouroughly enjoyed their dining experience. More
