Arrived to be told the room had just been painted and the manager didn't know this was happening. She said had put an onion in room to stop us smelling it....room just smelt of onion and v strongly of paint. Couldn't stay in room due to paint smell being so strong, no other rooms available. Girl did try to find... More

Having driven from Balintore to Ullapool, I was just in the mood for a good local meal, however I think I would have been better going to the chippy. Service was shocking, food was only passable, and I certainly will not return.

Rooms very much in need of Tender Loving Care Carpets need renewed, more care in bathroom from housekeeping...!! Hooks to hang coats would be good. Mirrors in room would be even more useful...!!! Beds are awful, every move you made, they squeaked... AWFUL Stayed 21.7.14

Enjoyed a lovely meal looking out over some of the nicest scenery in this stunning area. Enjoyed lovely fish soup followed by another fish dish then followed up with sticky toffee pudding. The service was quick, efficient and the food was piping hot, what more can you ask for and all at reasonable prices.

This little old pub is at the far end of the block, away from the ferry terminal and coach tourist crowd, so much less crowded. Patrons can take drinks across the road and sit on the wall looking out at the busy little harbour. A local watering hole where staff were polite and friendly, though embarrassed that a number of... Our twin room (no.8) was very small but more than adequate, with a modern en suite, wardrobe and small TV. Though at the top of a long flight of stairs there is easier access from the back (the inn is on a slope so the upper floors are at ground level from the rear). The bar was pleasant enough, and... Visited last Tuesday, meal left me with stomach ache for a day. Meal took ages to arrive and there was much shouting from the kitchen. Disgusting toilet and chaotic staff. Would not recommend at all..

We stayed in this pub several years ago and returned for one night on 20th May. As it happened we were given the same room as previously (No. 2). Very friendly and helpful staff. we ate in the bar and enjoyed good pub food. Our room had a lovely harbour view although as on our previous visit this was partly... More

Got there about 7.30 and all the mussels, oysters and fish pie were already gone. Sister had the last langoustines which were pretty dry and curled up. My haddock was v good. The 2 staff on were too busy to be as friendly as they obviously wanted to be. In general was ok but if ever there was missed potential....

It's clear that the owners are looking to develop the Ferry Boat Inn into something better than the average, but currently the product doesn't deserve the price premium over it's neighbours. I stayed a single night in a single room, and to be honest, the room was roomier than many singles I've used. It was clean and warm, and the... More
