I had a light lunch at The Ferry Boat Inn and enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere is just like in many pubs but the food is better than in many pubs. They have a good selection of food; mainly seafood but there are also some meat dishes. I didn't know what to expect when I first entered the pub,... More

This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in during our otherwise enjoyable holiday in Scotland. We travelled up the beautiful west coast of Scotland only to find the hotel we had prebooked was a big disappointment. Very small room on seafront had nice view but was extremely noisy all night due to the single glazed windows which afforded... More

This is a traditional pub with a lively bar which features live music on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The bar on Thursday evening was packed and very friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. We were allocated a very small room, namely room 3. This seems to happen to us regularly in this country, maybe because we are both... More

We stayed here before catching the ferry to Stornaway. Really nice hotel, room was very nice and the bar was great with fabulous haddock and chips! The only downside was that it was quite noisy overnight..... with it being a fairly old building it seemed that doors were constantly banging and there was a fire door at the end of... More

After walking around Ullapool looking for somewhere to eat , we came across the FBI (Ferry Boat In ). A busy small pub serving fantastic food. We were lucky to get a table, only two free! Even luckier were the landlady moved us to a window table when it became free, great views across the loch! Good serves, great selection... More

If you want a view of the bay this is the place and that view is worth a lot. Entering the ground floor we were a bit dubious, the first impression is of a place a bit run down but the bedroom was great, tastefully and recently decorated, bathroom too, very comfortable. If you want a smooth trendy place with... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with a group. Room on top floor. Freezing when we arrived. Soon warmed up. Nice to have a bath. View of the sea between chimneys. Lovely setting. Food in bar was good, mainly fish. Excellent sticky toffee pudding. Breakfasts had lots of choice. Place a little run down. Could do with tarting up in places.... More

Stayed one night having spent the day driving up London, and getting the ferry the next morning, so all we really wanted was a warm bed and lots of sleep. The room was at the front of the hotel, so noise from the bar was pretty bad. In the morning I tried to have a bath, but the mixer tap... More

Pleasant enough view over the Loch - nothing spectacular though. Lightning 6-day trip to Scotland. Stayed in Country House Hotels, very nice pub near Gleneagles, a crofter's cottage in the north and - The Ferry Boat Inn. Ullapool really hasn't got that much going for it these days - the glorious fishing days are behind it and - in my... More
