Upon arrival I had to search for someone to book us in. No help was offered with our baggage and again I had to seek out help. The room itself was fine but overpriced for what it was. The establishment felt more like a pub with rooms rather than a hotel as the noise from people outside smoking/ chatting went... More

We stayed overnight pre boarding the ferry and we had real mixed high and lows. The reception was very friendly and as an old and relatively small hotel you could understand that rooms would not be particularly well furnished but we hadn't expected our own toilet to be some yards down the corridor. Although it was bit inconvenient (especially when... More

We did not stay overnight at the Argyll Hotel - not after what we saw was being charging for a bowl of soup. £7.95 for a bowl of soup in a very ordinary highland hotel, and its a very plain, average restaurant. £7.95 is more than a bit much to ask - even the high 'let's rip off the tourist'... The Argyll Hotel is one of those places that the word "mixed" best describes. Yes, we were warmly greeted with natural friendliness and humour. Yes, we were helped to our rooms with baggage. Yes, our room had beautiful views over Loch Broom and the buildings of the town below. Yes, there is great parking at the back door. No, the... More

Booked this hotel mainly because it has a big car park and I was towing a small boat. Very warm welcome from reception who went out of his way to ask f we had travelled to Ullapool before. I felt he was keen to sing the praises of the village. We had room 14, which had a fantastic view down... More

Nice Basic room with a GREAT view!!!! Good Guinness and varied nightly entertainment! breakfast service was slightly odd with the waitress being dressed in very casual clothes, but the breakfast was good.

Friendly welcome. Wonderful view. Tired but spacious room - bathroom ceiling needs re-painting. Inefficient but pleasant service. Very good food exceeding the expectation created by the cafe style decor in the restaurant. Comfortable bed. Quiet beautiful location.

We arrived not knowing what to expect,as this was a business trip, prior to a ferry journey on to Stornoway. The hotel was booked by our company for us. First of all,Nigel,is the slightly eccentrically dressed owner but also a charming and enthusiastic host. Breakfast was excellant, beer was great too, although expensive. Rooms very clean and you are well looked after, nothing is... More

A less than warm welcome, no information about the, rooms, restaurant etc & felt like we were intruding! First impression of the loch view room were very good however, on closer examination, the room was a little tatty & the bathroom very basic. the room hadn't been hoovered, there was no fruit as booked, there was one small bottle of... We stayed in room 14, big comfy bed and comfortable armchairs from which to admire the view southwards over the buildings on the sea-front to the harbour and up Loch Broom to the mountains beyond. We were on the room-only rate, so didn't try the restaurant (which is out the back of the hotel and so has no views), or... More
