Really nice food in the restaurant and the staff were ultra friendly. We didn't stay in the hotel because we thought it was a bit pricy. But dinner was nice and the bar was comfy. But the live music was a bit dodgy...could have been much better

Had a one night stay and would definitely go back. A lovely clean room, big bed and lovely furnishings. The bathroom was a little tired but spotless and comfortable with loads of hot water. The bar is also dog friendly which is a bonus. We stayed at the hotel for one night and moved on to self catering accommodation but... More

We visited at a very quiet time, staff were welcoming, the kitchen knocked us up a quality cheese and onion sandwich at supper time which was not on the menu but showed that nothing was too much trouble. Friendly locals in the bar, roaring fire, cold beer and comfy beds, couldn't ask for more at the price. Breakfast was good... More

Comfortable and characterful hotel, with a lovely bar -- good real ale (CAMRA prize-winning), open fire, good music, and very tasty and vegan-friendly menu. There was a slight problem with the window (there was a storm on), but we were offered another room straight away. Would happily return.

Argyll is slowly wearing its 3rd star so the best thing is to adjust expectations. The bathroom was the low point, with the bath patched up a few times and the shower's history going back to the '70s. We stayed in a king size room. It was spacious and the bed comfortable. We noticed however not all rooms are ensuit... More

What a great location with views across Loch Broom, Nigel and Franner made us feel very welcome as did Marina and Sam behind the bar and the rest of the staff. A good hearty breakfast to start the day. Wide selection on the menu for the evening meal with vegitarian options. Hope to return again.

My partner and I loved our stay. It was so relaxed and I feel that it was a home from home. Staff were friendly and our room warm when we arrived. Bed linen was clean and soft, beds comfortable. Our room was large with a sofa and desk. Radio and TV both worked fine. Bathroom small but functional. The bar... More

The hotel is basic in terms of accommodation but the welcome and service was second to none. The view of the harbour and the tranquility of the place at this time of year made it feel peaceful and relaxing. I would recommend eating in the restaurant where the food was well above average and reasonably priced. We had our dog... More

I'm not sure how this hotel was awarded three stars! Avoid it at all costs. The rooms have walls that are so thin you can hear everything from other rooms. The snoring next door kept me awake. The doors needed to be slammed to close them (as they were badly fitted)so we had to put up with the loud noise... More

My wife and I loved staying at The Argyll. From the outside, the building is attractive and has a substantial look to it. The rooms, as well as the entire property, fees like they are kept up with pride by owners that care about their clients. A private parking lot behind the hotel is very convenient. The pub and restaurant... More
