We were waiting for the ferry to Isle of Lewis, needed to stop for coffee, lunch etc. We made our way to the coffee shop (?) off the main lobby. We ordered coffee and lunch and wandered around the lobby area. We ended up chatting with another ferry couple and genrally had a good time. Definitely would go back, very... More

We stayed at the Caledonian when traveling on our motorcycle through Scotland. We made a pit stop here as we was loosing the light. At the reception we was told the hotel was almost full but they had one room left so we said we would take it. The room was old fashioned and was in need of a makeover.... More

We have stayed here a few times -- rooms are basic but clean it has a pub bolted onto it that also serves food - but plenty of good chip shop in town if you want to try a fish supper Breakfast can be a bit hit or miss - its like a fast food restaurant with the food prepared... More

My Sister, Grandson & I stayed here using a voucher. On a previous visit to Ullapool we had coffee here & when I saw the voucher decided it was worth another visit. Well as my title says we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel may be a little tired however the dining room staff more than made up for this.... More

Spent one night here. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was a little cold compared to all the other places we stayed at on this trip. Breakfast was self service but had enough choice to suit all palletes. Our room had a view of the loch. Perfectly situated, especially if travelling on the morning ferry out of Ullapool. On... More

Stayed here on a very cheap living social deal with my husband. As others have stated the hotel is data, needs a lot of money spent on it. The food is served buffet style but was warming and enjoyable after a day in the hills. The bar is nice and the drinks reasonably priced. The hotel is in a great... More

Thank you for your comments please accept my apologies for the extremely rude members of my team, we did get an electrician in to look at the plug who then replaced it. As it is now the end of season with us they no longer work for the hotel. once again please accept my apologies More

Very clean, comfortable and friendly - we would happily stay again. Don't be put off by people who have booked a cheap hotel, yet wrongly have expectations of 'Hilton' - like levels of facilities or specification. Sure, some of the carpet is old - but it would cost a fortune for this small independent hotel to change it all. Stop... More

Basic hotel, decent room which was clean and tidy. The shower was decent and the bathroom was basic but clean with good towels, plenty of hot water and heating. The room was small with twin beds which were decent with good bedding, the heating was good, so much so we switched it off at night. Evening meals were basic and just... More

The location of the Caledonian Hotel is its biggest selling point, it is literally 2 minutes walk away from the harbour & ferry terminal, with shops and banks on your doorstep. The hotel itself is perfectly adequate, my room was a decent size, perfectly clean and the large bathroom was spotless. The public areas are also clean and tidy and... More
