This was perfect for our one night stay before the ferry and would certainly be a nice place to stay longer - it's away from the noise of the main part of Ullapool with beautiful, tranquil views over Loch Broom but only a 12-13 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The hosts are efficient and professional but very unobtrusive, and... More

Stayed at this B&B on the eastern outskirts of Ullapool recently and really enjoyed the relative peace and quiet of the location, compared with the noisier buzz of downtown. Ian and Lesley made us extremely welcome and we had a room with magnificent views out over the loch - it was lovely. It was also on the side away from... More

Originally we had booked a room downtown on the waterfront and are very happy we changed to The Sheiling. Only a 5-10 minute walk to town - quiet location - comfortable room and beds- very good breakfast with exceptional sausages and bacon, large breakfast area where you may have some sense of privacy - have coin operated laundry facilities on... We had a lovely stay here in May 2014. The views of the Loch are amazing and only a 5minute walk into town. Just wish we'd had longer here. Very friendly hosts and delicous breakfast. Can't recommend this place high enough

We stayed a night at The Sheiling in March while on our way to catch the ferry to Lewis. It was our second visit and a treat we had promised ourselves ever since we had stayed a couple of years ago. We were not disappointed. The Sheiling is a purpose-built guest house but feels homely, warm and very comfortable. All... More

We spent 3 days at The Sheiling last June 2013 with the most gracious hosts, Lesley and Ian. Our room overlooked the loch and was cosy and inviting --very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. The room was very quiet and extremely clean--with some lovely little extra touches. Our meals were served in the delightful dining room which also overlooks the... More

We tend not to stay in B&Bs but due to our visit coinciding with the late May Bank Holiday weekend we were unable to find any hotel accommodation in Ullapool. This place was recommended to us by the Ullapool Tourist Information and we booked by email before leaving Australia. We had two rooms - one upstairs with a loch view... More

In May we spent one night at "the Sheiling" before catching the ferry to Lewis the next day. It was raining cats and dogs and even snowed during our bus drive fom Glasgow. Because of a 10 Min. walk from the bus station, we arrived soaked, but received a warm welcome. The B&B is clean and quiet and our room... More

Ullapool is a small nice village, with a charming landscape, and The Sheiling is one of its best places to enjoy it! The owner is very kind and helpful, and we were surprised that some rewiews said that he wasn't so. The house is very well kept, with a beautiful garden along the 'loch', with soft grass, flowers, a gazebo... More
