I stayed last minute at the bunkhouse of Ceilidh Place. Although staff was really friendly and I heard amazing things about the hotel and restaurant, the bunkhouse was another category. It was old, dirty, my curtain fell off and the beds were not comfortable. I don't mind these things if they offer it on budget price. They asked way too... More

Thought this place was really great - quirky, nice friendly staff, good varied menu which staff could cater to my dietary requirements, and nice, fresh food. They managed to seat us without reservation when they were busy, so we didn't have to wait!

We were on our way back from a glorious cottage stay on Tanera Mor & decided to finish our holiday with a night at the Ceilidh Place. We have been there before & so know what to expect; what it is & what it is not. What it is, is like staying in a mix of a gallery & the... More

I love the Ceilidh Place, and over the years have stayed, eaten and had drinks here many times. The food is consistently excellent, there is always a great selection of beer and I love the quirkiness of the staff and surroundings. Having stayed (in the bunkhouse on this occasion) recently, however, I have picked up on a few negatives. Firstly,... More

Very good meal, as good as anything we'd expect to get in an good city restaurant. Nice and fresh ingredients, and really very good service delivered by an enthusiastic young waiting team, who wwerer attentive and had a good knowledge of the menu and indeed the wide range of malts on offer with out coffee.

We had the misfortune to arrive late in Ullapool after a problem with our pre-booked b and b. The reception staff, both the night before and the next day were rude [as reported in another recent review so not just me!]. We were told to stay in the hostel accommodation over the road: £58 for two people to share a... More

We have been coming here for over 40 years and the restaurant has always been lovely. The restaurant has expanded but the quality of food has always been high. Local produce is used and we can thoroughly recommend the loch broom mussels. The service is always friendly and welcoming. We will keep coming back to this lovely restaurant and town.

We've been staying at the Ceilidh Place each summer for the last eight years. Lovely atmosphere and great food. The rooms are pleasant and the residents lounge is a relaxing place to sit with a cup of tea made in the kitchen. It's not a "standard hotel" and some may not appreciate the quirks - but we love it and... More

During our stay we asked the receptionist if they had baby changing facilities. We were told yes, but not for him and she pointed at my 2 year old! We felt very unwelcome and frustrated; though the staff in the bar / restaurant area were very nice.
