The place is a bit rustic however full of charm. There were three of us and we all had smoked haddock chowder.....awesome. We took a stroll around Ullapool and then went back for afternoon tea. Cakes and scones were great. Service was fantastic for lunch when it was busy however it was a bit slow for tea and we had... More

Lovely relaxed setting, but was given THE smallest portion of lemon cheesecake I have ever seen.....(about an inch and a half at the crust edge)...... with strawberries straight from the fridge. Not great, considering the price.

Have stayed over many years and not impressed with current regime after 1st day of latest visit. Dinner OK but one of the delights was the honesty bar in the lounge. But it appears that I am no longer honest. This is because after arriving back at 11.30 after a local Ceiligh (at which at least one. Hotel staff member... More

On arrival we were directed to the Ceilidh Place Bunkhouse. On 1st looks it seemed reasonable for the money. When we opened the room door we confronted by a miniature sized room with 2 bunk beds, top and bottom. And a wash hand basin. Not even a plug in the sink. Now bearing in mind that I have a bad... I had high hopes upon visiting this restaurant, as I had read about it on a few websites suggesting a stop when in Ullapool. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. After being seated, the server was rather gruff. We ordered mains, but didn't have wine, as we were still drinking beers from the bar. He abruptly took away our wine glasses, wine... More

Had a weeks break with the extended family in Ullapool this month. On the last night we had dinner in the ceilidh place and it was an excellent end to the holiday. The lad who served us was attentive and engaging, and the food was excellent, as good a meal as I have had for a long time in the... More

Do NOT stay in the bunkhouse across the road. Shabby looking rooms with awkward and uncomfortable beds. No kitchen facilities. Not even a kettle in the room. A hall downstairs that is used for local live music, which can make for an interesting experience, unless you're trying to sleep. AVOID. Stay at the youth hostel instead!

Just popped in for a drink, two from the bar, a coffee and a hot chocolate. The place was quiet but the hot drinks took an age to arrive and the hot chocolate was luke warm. We had to remind the bar staff that we had ordered hot drinks. Not the end of the world, I know, but not great... More

Visits to Ullapool are few and far between but incomplete without a trip to the Ceilidh Place. This time it was for a two-night family stay in a twin room. As ever, the international hospitality team provided the right blend of 'relaxed' and 'service'. Whether it's for a sublime hot chocolate, a warming drink or a delicious meal, the Ceilidh... More

Food wasn't great in terms of breakfast. Rooms were simplistic which isn't a problem and were cosy but they also weren't too comfortable, I felt like there was a lot of moisture in the air in the rooms. The showers were good enough but there was only 4 cubicles in the secondary building as it was shared showers (which looks... More
