Friendly and welcoming staff. Small but comfortable room (7). Each room has books chosen by local people. The lounge for guests overlooks the harbour and is a lovely place to sit after dinner (which was also very good). If you have time, take the Shearwater boat tour to the Summer Isles.

Once again we used the Ceilidh Place Bunkhouse for two overnight stops. We were in a four bunk room with all our motorcycle clothing and bags and still had plenty space. The downside to the bunkhouse is a no cooking facilities or dedicated drying room. There is a heater in the bedroom which is very good and would probably dry... More

Pretentious, overrated, overpriced with some unhelpful and rude staff. Glass fractured spilling drink over my wife. After we cleaned it up I asked for a gratis drink as reparation only to be told to 'get over it by the management functionary on duty at the time.

We stayed at the hotel recently to attend a wedding. We found the hotel great, the staff were very friendly and efficient, good breakfast and the rooms very comfortable. Hotel is well located in the village, close to bank / atm and several restaurants close to the harbour. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Visited in April with friends quite a quirky restaurant with an amazing log burner and on site bookshop, we had the turbot which was excellent, welcoming staff and efficient service, would go back again to try some other food from the interesting and seasonal Scottish menu

We ate in the restaurant twice but didn't stay in the hotel itself. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful restaurant staff, good menus and high quality food. Good selection of gins as well as malts in the bar.

visited here several times to eat and drink, food pretty good, though quite pricy. Staff friendly and knowledgeable generally - as well as keen to chat. Last visit unfortunately marred by very drunk and abusive local youth who should not have been served more alcohol by the bar staff. Disappointing ending to holiday.

Friendly hotel, cum bar cum restaurant - one street up from harbour. Very relaxed - good reputation with walkers and sailors. Good real ale - even has a book store in the bar! Residents bar upstairs excellent for late evening whisky.

We were recommended to stay at this hotel by a friend who travels a lot with his work. We were not at all disappointed. This hotel is very unique in that it is a home away from home!! The staff are so friendly and helpful to the point we asked if there was a local laundry, which was closed, but... More

Just came back from my last stay at the Ceilidh Place; have been twice before, I think. I've never been in the summer season, so don't know how busy it would be then. Now it was relatively quiet, which I rather appreciate. I love the set up of the hotel; the fact that there is a wonderful lounge upstairs for... More
