From the moment we arrived at noon -( wanting to drop our bags off) we were given a warm welcome by Linda. The room was ready for us so we were able to drop the bags and go off to meet our friends. We spent the night in a very comfortable bed. Everything that we could have possibly needed was... more

From the moment you are warmly checked in, nothing is too much trouble. The friendly proprietors have a top notch, effortlessly run establishment with an excellent standard of fixtures and fittings in the rooms. I had a single room with ensuite and paid a single price! Being up in Scotland for the Open Golf tournament as were most of the... more

Keith and Linda are perfect hosts - beautiful house and lovely bedrooms - great breakfast - everything fresh - loved the fruit. Local knowledge very helpful - really enjoyed seeing the red squirrels! Good recommendations for evening meals - Carlos excellent Italian. Lovely start to our holiday in Ireland - no trouble to Linda to give us an earlier breakfast... more

I've stayed a couple of times at Douglas House - last time just for one night (unfortunately), but after two weeks of travelling around found it like coming home - but better! Welcoming, comfortable, lovely décor and wonderful breakfasts - what more can I say? Usual excellent service delivered by Keith & Linda, with all the little touches that I'd... more

Beautifully appointed, spacious rooms are just one of the great things about this hotel. The owners are experienced hotel managers with a genuine gift for hospitality. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and is served in a restaurant-style dining area. Guests are seated at their own tables, giving them some privacy, yet I discovered a cheerful joviality as couples talked across... more

Stayed overnight (without pre-booking) on our way to visit friends in Belfast and were so impressed that we booked to stay for two nights on our return journey as the area seemed worth further exploration. Clean, comfortable and welcoming, with a good sized room offering all necessities and comfortable chairs in which to relax. Little extras like the cafetiere and... more

The Douglas House is a top-notch B&B in located on Queen St in the centre of Castle Douglas. We booked a long weekend and found the accommodation to be excellent. The room we stayed in (the upstairs King Size room) sports an adjoining ensuite bathroom. The room and bathroom were both spotlessly clean, and included complimentary shampoo, coffee, tea and... more
