Made a last minute decision to eat here, food was fine but took a long time to arrive. The waitress(think she was the owner)was pleasant but rushed around a lot.My second lemonade was not fizzy at all.The toilet was awful-carpeted and dark.there was a bar of well used soap and a rough hand towel.the soap dispenser and electric hand dryer didn't work.my... Paid £45 for double room, single occupancy, had 5 rooms. Hotel is dated, staff are not hotel chain standard. Breakfast was good. Room quality varies, some even more dated than others. Room 7 is a triple, less noise, slightly better decor, get a deal if you can. Everywhere was cleaned to a good standard.

The Imperial Golf Hotel is an old coaching inn on the Main Street in Castle Douglas with several flags on the outside. The 9 hole golf course is about half a mile away. You need to take your own clubs at this time of the year and pay in the honesty box. Holes 1 and 9 are steep hills. The... More

I really hate complaining but I just do not want anyone else to experience the night I had last weekend! There was me, my partner and 2 other couples all down for the Galloway hills rally. We were given a twin room, which did not bother me, except for the fact it was straight above the smokers area and the... More

Returned again to the Imperial Hotel. Love the atmosphere there. All the staff are excellent. The owner Patricia was her usual charming self, nothing too much trouble. The rooms are basic but very clean. We will return again very soon.

Be very careful when booking here, this is a pub which has rooms. Avoid Saturday nights if you want to get a good early nights sleep in order to enjoy the amazing countryside around Castle Douglas, the pub downstairs is very rowdy and plays loud music until late. The mattress wasn't very comfortable, the shower was cold sometimes, and the... More

Went in by chance for an evening meal. It was very comfortable and welcoming! 4 diners recommended we try their Fish and Chips. So glad we did. It was really delicious and we would eat there again when in Castle Douglas.

My husband and myself booked this hotel last minute as he booked to do an event nearby. The bar and lounge was nice and the 2 bar men where very pleasant and gave us the key to our room. We got to the room and it was clean but very dated and could be doing with some decorating. We took... More

Second visit to the hotel and I am pleased to say that our stay was just as good if not better than the last one. Stayed a bit longer this time with my Husband and two children aged five and three. The room was lovely, clean and quite. And the beds were so comfortable we slept like logs. The food... More
