Very warm welcome, shown to our room, explanation of where best to park. Room bright and clean spacious bathroom and plenty of towels - only slight downside was squeaky bed! Breakfast next day was hot and plentiful, and dinner same evening was also very good, especially the sticky toffee pudding.

Very nice facilities, shared a twin room with my cousin which had an ensuite bathroom. Toilet was abit odd to use as in the cistern took a long time to refill and it didnt flush properly. Towels are provided. We had dinner in the restaurant which wasnt great quality, probably couldve got the same at a fish and chip shop... More

I had a two night break here with a friend in May and and it was lovely. We had a twin room with en-suite shower room which was basically furnished but spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel is great as it enables you to explore Castle Douglas without having to drive. The breakfast was really good and nothing was... More

Had family staying and went here for a meal the menu is very varied lots to choose from. Prices are very reasonable too, the meal was excellent, service was exceptional and the presentation was first class. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Stayed there for a night on our way down to the Lakes District. The room was very clean as well as the ensuite. My only whinge is we are used to a queen size bed and this was a double bed. Even though we were on the main street it was quiet, traffic not a problem. We had a evening... More

Booked the hotel blind for a weekend meeting, not knowing anything about it other than it was convenient for our needs. All I can say is it's superb for a small hotel. The staff are probable amongst the most customer focused and friendly I have experienced anywhere. A small problem on arrival with our room was sorted without any trouble... More

We found the staff very accommodating. The public rooms had been revamped and were very smart. The rooms were fine, although they are due to be renovated too. It was very quiet and relaxing. We had great fish and chips in the lounge bar and the Merlot went down a treat! The hotel is handy for the town. It's definitely... More

We stayed on a Sunday night. It was nice and quite. The staff were helpful. The room was clean and we had a comfortable bed and had a good sleep. We had a lovely fresh cooked breakfast and the nicest porridge. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to book again !!
