Stayed for one night whilst visiting the area and couldnt believe how nice it was. Girl serving on the bar was fantastic very attentive and offered great service. This hotel has changed hands recently and been given a facelift, both outside and in. The rooms are of a contemporary design, very comfortable and good value. The staff and the owners alike are very friendly and helpful and it was nice to talk to the locals, sitting in the bar. We had a few lovely meals in The Granary... More

Spent some time in Wigtown recently and can recommended the Ploughman Hotel.The hotel is an older building and the en-suite room was functional and clean and even had a mini-fridge,as well as TV and kettle.The powershower was excellent with hot water available at any time of the day.The food was very good too and also reasonably priced.The hosts and their...
