We recently spent a couple of nights at The Bruce where we found the hospitality to be excellent, the food plentiful and of very high quality and the accommodation to be spacious and very comfortable. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience and the hotel highly recommended. more

On our short break we found all the staff to be most welcoming and helpful. The food at breakfast and dinner was all fresh and well prepared and a wide choice was available. Our room was large, warm and comfortable, with a bath AND shower and nice views over the rolling hills beyond. We were delighted to find that the... more

Found the hotel to be of excellent quality. Service was superb and the standard of the room was great; spacious and well laid out. Food was of top quality and the staff could not have been more helpful or polite. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. more

My wife and I, and other relatives, have just spent a night at The Bruce as we were attending a family funeral in the area. We ended up there because it was the only hotel in the area not closed for winter refurbshment. It would not otherwise have been our first choice, because of less than satisfactory experiences in the... more

I stayed here for an archaeology group weekend and the hotel dealt with our group efficiently, providing us with a separate dining area and menus. My room was clean and nicely decorated. There were nice thoughtful touches, like the box of tissues in the bedroom and I liked the small table in the downstairs ladies restroom which carried a selection... more

Just ended a two night stay as part of a group of 35. Our bedroom was clean & comfortable, and the food was good. The service was overwhelmingly excellent with the staff (and owners) putting themselves out to ensure that we were really well looked after. A very pleasant stay indeed. more

Room comfortable and well appointed. Staff very helpful and obliging, dealing with a group of about 40 without undue delay or signs of stress. And the food was wonderful. The memory of garlic mushrooms in a white wine and cream sauce will comfort me through the winter days. more
