Visited for the annual big quiz night, stayed overnight, arrived earlier than expected but were made more than welcome, small but fully stocked bar, fantastic menu, reasonable prices, portions huge, food great, quiz very enjoyable and entertaining, quiz master was knowledgeable, bedrooms were clean, well stocked, bathrooms were spotless, beds really comfortable, some noise from street outside but not troublesome.... We booked in to stay for a one-night break at the weekend and had a great time. From the minute we got in touch to book the break everything ran smoothly. We were delighted with the deal and we were met with a very polite young man (Robert) on the Saturday. Lovely to see someone being so professional and making... More

I cannot fault anything at this hotel. Room was perfect, very clean and well appointed and laid out. Some nice Bruce tartan hangings. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the central location on the main street was perfect. Traffic was no issue. Heh, its on the main street, but this did not stop me having a great sleep in a... I stayed here for one night with my husband and baby. The room was large with comfortable beds (twin room, top floor as it was really busy when we booked). Although the room decor was tired and the bathroom wasn't great, the views, staff and breakfast more than made up for it. However, there isn't a lift! Not a problem... More

Stayed here for one night on 30th October There was 12 of us staying in total. The rooms are very dated and need upgrading desperately, especially rooms 5/6 These are family rooms. Our room overlooked the car park which I wasn't too bothered about as we were only in for one night. The hotel seemed to be clean enough, the bar... More

The hotel is a little tired in places. Our room was situated over a noisy extraction unit. The free WiFi only worked in the entrance hall, elsewhere very erratic. The breakfasts were very good and evening meals, well one was excellent, another not so good. The staff were very friendly but somewhat stretched.

A very comfortable hotel. I had a double bed and the room was very large. There is a stone arch to pass through to get to the car park at the back. It was a Sunday and the restaurant was very popular with local residents.

Lovely area, really good museum run by locals. Unfortunately the weekend was ruined as soon as we arrived at the hotel who said they had not received notification of our booking. They had given our double room to someone else. When I was about to get upset, the receptionist managed to log into booking.com and found our booking, miraculously finding... More

The family room we stayed in was ENORMOUS and comprised a large 'main' room with double bed, wardrobe, cot, 2x bedside tables, chest of drawers, dressing table, sofa, and side table - but still not cramped - and a smaller room with two single beds and bedside tables and a sink. The bathroom was also a good size. The decor... More
