We travelled into Newtown Stewart following a lovely day out. We searched for restaurants and was guided to the Bruce Hotel by our GPS. Staff were very friendly and restaurant was very comfortable. We opted for the Sunday roast special (3 courses for £15) and was not disappointed. Meal from start to finish was delicious! Free wifi was also a... More

We took our 2 grandchildren (11 & 14) here for a DBB 3 night break. It was fantastic value for money. .The children loved having their own connecting bedroom next to ours, both of which were very clean. There was a good selection of food, well cooked and presented, we ate in the diningroom overlooking the hills. The staff were... More

My family group of four had a meal in the Bruce Hotel, Newton Stewart. The dining room was well laid out, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly while maintaining a high professional standard. The service was efficient with food delivered to our table soon after ordering, it was served hot and tasted delicious. We stayed for two nights and it was one of the most relaxed places we've stayed, and very central for touring Galloway. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food excellent, and there aren't notices with rules of your stay all over the room! We loved the whole place, the decor may be a bit tired (less to worry... More

Owned by absentee owners this hotel really needs a thorough refurb. The decor is tired, the carpets pulling away from the wall a bit, and patchy - BUT....... it is exemplary in its cleanliness, and all the little extras are there, along with dedicated staff. The food is spot on, ordinary fare, nicely presented, hot, and in sufficient quantity. This... More

This is a lovely hotel within walking distance of the town centre. It has excellent views across the hills. We ate in the restaurant at night and had breakfast in the morning both meals were excellent. It is kept very clean and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived at around 1am in the morning and they were more than happy to check us in out of hours. Very friendly, clean and tidy. Would recommend. Price was very cheap, we were only there for a few hours as a stop over on our way to Belfast but was a pleasant experience

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel - the first was a few years back and I didnt realise it was the same one I had booked until I pulled up outside. The first time I stayed here I was not impressed, the room was small, service was very average and I left not thinking much... More
