We have stayed here before and were pleased to find the same level of service and food. The staff are all helpful and effiecient. Nice countryside and coast. Empty roads and free parking.

We spent two nights here as a wee treat and that it certainly was. Our room overlooking the garden was large and most comfortable . It was not new or newly furnished but managed to look lived in without any shabbiness== the bathroom dated by its blue ceramics was likewise immaculate and did not =apart from the colour =look its... Kirroughtree House is an outstanding hotel which provides an exceptional quality of service, which started when we were greeted by name as we unpacked our luggage from the car. Our standard room was spacious, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean whilst the food was of the highest standard. The restaurant service was impeccable. We had the same table for each meal... Room - Number 19, spacious and comfortable living area and bed space with great views to the front and side. Seating area with sofa and chair. Bed large and comfortable (blankets not duvet). Lovely window seat. Bathroom adequate but smaller than might expect for size of room and could do with an update as looking a little tired especially tiling... More

Our recent weekend in Munich was abandoned due to the volcanic ash problem.Having gone to Manchester boarded a plane and then the flight cancelled we were rather dissappointed, so as all was prepared we decided to have a weekend closer to home.We found this hotel by chance on the internet, website looked to be just what we wanted and on... The service here is unbelievably good especially for the UK. The manager Jim came out to our car to bring our luggage in even before we had checked in, and that set the tone ie friendly attentive and very very efficient. Breakfast in bed booked for 8.30am (order whatever you want) came at 8.30 . the food was hot, eggs runny... More

We stayed in this hotel mid week in April. The Deluxe rooms are very spacious and well equipped with beautiful views over the countryside. The hotel is well located for exploring the area and set in beautiful grounds. The hotel was quiet, but this is a hotel you would come to for a quiet relaxing break so that wasn't a... More

Stayed here for a long weekend in early March. Not very busy, so we were upgraded to a suite. Staff were endlessly helpful and friendly (I looked at all the other rooms as well - there isn't a bad room in the place) Rooms spacious, clean and well-appointed, some have great views across the grounds and local area. General feel... More

We booked the night before we arrived and could not have made a better choice. It was explained to ud that gentlemen are requested to waer jackets in the dining room. We were asked at what time we would be arriving, and even though we arrived a hour later than advised, before we had the back door of our car... More

A bit pricey which made the small single bed and the cheap extras (tea/coffee and mint on the turned down bed) seem out of context and just plain penny pinching. Why in the 21st century do we need jackets for dinner?
