We stopped here one Sunday for tea. The waiter didnt appear over competent and the food was average. My 7 year old asked for a diet coke (order taken at the table), and was brought A PINT!!! Seriously???? We kept having to ask the waiter for cutlery, napkins, sauces- just little things that should have been picked up on (and... More

Visited with partner and we could not get out quick enough. Poor staff, bad feeling in the place and one to avoid. Cheap poor quality produce used and bland bland bland. No flavour in anything. Plenty other better places in the area to go to, don't waste your money in here.

Stayed here for one night before getting the ferry to Larne. Friendly staff on reception, room was comfy & clean & nicely decorated in a modern style, bathroom a little dated but also clean. Bed was comfy & there is little noise disturbance. Had a decent bar meal in the evening & breakfast was very good. All in all v... More

The Crown is a very clean friendly place to stay with newly refurbished rooms that are very well appointed with refreshments,tv, free wfi is available. The restaurant served a very good cooked breakfast ordered the night before plus cerials toast etc on a self service buffet. A friendly bar with live music great atmosphere to chill in after a day... Musty comes first to mind. Too bad, because the food and service downstairs at the hotel's restaurant was good. Our room/bath was adequate, i.e., bare bones and serviceable. Parking was a plus but the town itself seems to have little to offer aside of being a way-stop to the ferry to Belfast.

This is a lovely hotel. Very nicely laid out and very dog friendly which I likes as I could take my whippet on our trip with us. The room was very comfortable. They only had a twin room available which wasn't so bad as there was enough room for a dog crate. I was very impressed that our dog was... More

best fish and chips ever to take away, unusual for a hotel to offer take aways but we were not disappointed. Returned on the sunday for a carvery again great all home cooked food prepared by the chef who was up front serving. Other food options also available. Will definitely return when holidaying again in Scotland.

My hubby and I had a lovely lunch here watching the tennis. The staff (Anthea) was so helpful changing the channel so we could watch the game we wanted. The food was delicious, especially the sticky toffee pudding. We'll be back next time we're here.

We have just returned from the best Carvery we have had. The chef was very accommodating and allowed us to have a bit of all three meats and the meat was so tender and juicy it was beautiful. The choice of vegetables which we could help ourselves to was fantastic as well. Everything was piping hot and you could certainly... More

We had a month long travel and this was by far the fanciest place we stayed in. It felt like a getaway, being away from all the noise and the lights of the city buzz. Sure, it was a 2 hour bus ride from Dumfries Rail Station but man, it was an amazing location. The staffs were really helpful and... More
