For a one-night stop in the Borders, we could not have chosen more aptly. The Old Priory is an enticing enough name but barely begins to impart the quality and delights of what Robin and Susan have created over the period of their ownership. The ambience is comfortable and welcoming, the rooms sizable and well-appointed. Had our stay been longer,... More

Robin and Susan (the owners) have given great consideration to detail to ensure you have a fantastically comfortable stay. Firstly, the beds are divine: comfy mattresses; delightful silk sheets; spaciously sized. The shutters on the windows to this magnificent (grade B listed) house do actually close, enabling you to have a deep and restful sleep, with no sunrise waking you... More

The welcome is great, the beds are soooo comfortable, there's a great selection of teas, fresh milk is available on request, wine glasses and whisky glasses are provided, there is a great choice at breakfast and all cooked freshly oh, and the bath towels wrap around! What more can I say.

This is so centrally located in Kelso that everything is within easy walking distance. It is a lovely old house and Robin pours his heart and soul into the B&B business. It is very much a family home, with occasional appearances from (beautifully behaved) dogs and children, and Robin presides over all with pride, advice on what to see, where... More

We spent two nights at this beautifully appointed. B&B. Good central location with private parking. We were given a friendly welcome with great advice of what to see and where to eat. Breakfasts gave us a good choice and were beautifully cooked.

This was the best B & B we have stayed in. Robin our genial host made us feel very welcome. We had the family room overlooking the garden with lovely furnishings and comfortable beds. The whole house was spotless and the breakfasts outstanding. It is perfectly located for visits to the Abbey, Floors castle, Mellerstain house, and the beautiful borders... More

A very pleasant surprise behind the subtle front door. A friendly welcome by owner Robin and beautiful room , full of antique furniture and furnishings. Delicious breakfast, well located for exploring the Scottish Borderlands. A great find and we will return--Graham & Margie

Not being a B&B veteran I was a bit worried about the idea of staying in someone's home as I actually usually like the anonymity of a hotel. From the moment I entered the Old Priory I realised that while it was a family home it was also the 'lovechild' of it's proprietor Robin. His own inimitable taste is everywhere.... More

Lovely old house with fully modern facilities. Very comfortable room. Breakfast was very special, comparable to any top hotel. Lovely fruit salad and excellent smoked haddock, yum, yum! A warm welcome. Choice of restaurants in the town for dinner. Close to the abbey which we visitedon our way out and found interesting. Couldn't be bettered.
