We just stayed for one night at The Old Priory, and enjoyed it so much it was a shame we couldn't stay longer! The owner Robin is very welcoming, the house is stuffed with antiques and full of charm, with several sitting rooms including a garden room. Plenty of books - told to help ourselves to any of them -... More

This gracious house was home to us for 3 nights after travelling throughout Scotland for several weeks. We were warmly welcomed by Robin and our room on the first floor overlooking the street was beautifully decorated. The silk duvet was a touch of luxury and the bed was very comfortable. The small amount of traffic rumbled over the cobblestones from... More

Wonderful old house in a Georgian town with cobbled streets. The family rooms were beautifully furnished and very spacious, overlooking the pretty garden. Excellent range of breakfast choices including porridge, both Scottish and Canadian style (with maple syrup). Robin was there when we needed him (but not when we didn't) and gave us really useful advice on things to do... More

Return visit, why go anywhere else when you are more than satisfied with everything. Yet again a warm welcome, a lovely comfortable bed with top quality linen, choice of a hot shower or soak in a bath (turret room), all the little touches such as toilettries, soft luxurious towels, tea, coffee, biscuits etc. then after an excellent night's sleep a... Spent a weekend at The Old Priory with my mum. Very large lovely rooms, fabulous breakfasts, great setting within walking easy distance of good restaurants, shops and the river. Off road car parking, a beautiful garden and guest lounge. Nothing was too much trouble for Robin and Sue who are so welcoming and helpful. One of the best B and... More

This is like visiting a friend but not having to help with the dishes. A B&B feeling like home in a great location. Kelso was a surprise with very good dining in town and excellent sightseeing in the area.

Great facilities in the Old Priory and both Sue and Robin couldn't have been more welcoming on our arrival and throughout our stay. We stayed with another couple over the weekend and both parties commented on the wee touches that the owners applied during the stay which made the experience so much more enjoyable, wide choice available for breakfast and... What a lovely welcoming place to stay! Friendly family owners plus family dogs made this feel like a home from home. The accommodation and food could not be faulted - just remember to ask Robin (owner) for just one of everything if having a cooked breakfast !!! Beautiful breakfast menu with such a good selection. We stayed in the family... More

Thoroughly enjoyed 3 night stay in this very sumptuous B&B. Bed was so cosy, and bathroom facilities excellent. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and presented. Host Robin was extremely helpful as to pointing out places of interest. Thoroughly recommend.

What a delightful stay I had for 3 nights. Each of the bedrooms are individually and tastefully furnished with antiques and great comfy beds. There is a lovely guest lounge, just to relax in at the end of a day exploring the area. Robin, the owner is very knowledgable of the local area and the best places for an evening... More
