I stayed at this hotel on 7th. December whilst in Kelso whilst on business. The hotel is in a lovely setting through an arch just off the town centre with the rear looking onto the river Tweed. The reception area and main lounge are very traditional with real fires burning. However....my room No.24, was pretty shabby to say the least.The... More

Old fashioned in a good way. Service is efficient, friendly and unobtrusive. A wood fire and the house pet dog welcomes you as you enter the hotel. Several comfortable lounges to relax in. The building is a classical villa with wonderful plaster ceilings and fine views onto the Tweed. Bedrooms are furnished with high quality arts and crafts furniture (from... More

Had a good night here with warm welcome, three open fires available! Bedrooms are comfortable, request river view, well worth it in morning . Hotel is a good size and plenty of space to find peace if you want to read and relax. Also close to town centre and lovely back garden on riverside.

Charming hotel with friendly helpful staff. Old world with character rather than modern. Rooms were warm and comfortable and the slightly rambling style simply adds to the atmosphere. Beautiful views over the river and a lovely comfortable lounge with real fire and separate bar. Huge bath. Great breakfast!

We stayed here for two nights for my husbands birthday on recommendation from friends, Edna's house is like stepping back in time, but also feels like your staying in someone's home rather than a modern hotel, enjoyed lunch in the bar watching the salmon that had escaped the fishermen, evening meal was delightful my husband had the terrine and fillet... It wasn't the nicest of days when we arrived at 1:30pm but the heating in our room had clearly been on for some while and it was comfortably warm. This, together with the friendly welcome, got us off to a good start. Our first floor room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the entrance gates and drive, was of... More

This hotel does have a genuine old world charm and a lovely atmosphere with genuinely friendly staff. The rooms are a little tired , but ours had a large bed , lobby and bathroom. I understand that new owners are starting a programme of refurbishment to some rooms and this is not before time to be honest. Maybe they could... More

Kelso is a lovely town and living in Berwick means it is easily accessible to my and my partner. We visited for 3 nights for a little getaway mid week and have to say the hotel was good to stay in. The decor was unique and we enjoyed the company of the staff very much.

Back again for another trip to Kelso. Same old faces every year back for their week's fishing. Staff at Ednam are all wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Food could be better but it's all served with a smile.

Visiting the Tweed for fishing many times, This hotel is quircky and fun. The decor is quite weird but very individual - in returning nothing seems to change which is probably part of it's charm. Food is simple but quality fare..
