This was obviously a very grand hotel in its day but now is in desperate need of a facelift & dragging itself into the modern world. It's dowdy & old fashioned. The wifi is non existent. The bed was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was only average, I will not be returning?

We have taken 2 rooms for many years to attend the Border Union Show - we will sadly not be using this hotel again, we gave it the benefit of the doubt last year as it had new owners but overall we were more disappointed than before so no more. Non of the staff (other than Suzzie) gave a stuff... More

I stayed here in June whilst on business near Kelso. The staff were very warm and welcoming. I ate a good quality and very good value for money meal in the bar and then enjoyed a couple of pints in the riverside garden with my colleagues afterwards. Breakfast was very good. I will definitely return on a leisure break.

Really can't recommend Ednam house highly enough after such a great job for our amazing wedding day! staff go out their way to help and are always friendly and make you feel very welcome-they work very hard! Our room was great, the bed being one of the comfiest and biggest hotel beds I had ever slept in and the breakfasts... More

We decided upon the Ednam House Hotel for a short break in the borders, mainly because of their pet friendly policy. Our little pug could not have been made to feel more welcome being allowed in most areas of the hotel and having a great time exploring the hotel's beautiful gardens. The staff at the hotel were all lovely and... More

Faded grandeur is how I would describe this hotel, the staff were friendly polite and attentive without being overly so. The bedroom we were in was adequate the bed was large and comfortable the furniture old and in keeping with the style of the house but some of it had seen better days the general decoration throughout was tired as... I recently spent a few days at this lovely hotel, it is tranquil and a haven of peace and relaxation. The staff are friendly and attentive, the breakfasts are good, rooms adequate but in need of serious redecoration. The public areas are a little better but still require some TLC, the gardens and grounds along the Tweed are excellent and... More

First day of June, popped in for lunch as I thought it couldn't possibly be worse than my first visit in January, my January visit was a disaster, food awful and tine portions, service awful as the staff seemed more interested in their cell phones than customers. Guess what .. nothing has changed, small portions, ridiculous prices for small portions.... More

Ednam House is a magnificent "pile" sitting on the banks of Tweed...and in the hearty of this lovely borders town. Our room was excellent .Spacious ,comfotable with views of the gardens to RiverTweed. Our bed was very comfortable. On arrival we had a light lunch in the bar which was very good. The afternoon was spent wandering round Kelso which is... More

After winding through the quaint streets of Kelso we arrived at Ednam House for a family wedding. It truly is grande, the staff are very friendly and the standard is high. We stayed in room 41 which, from what I've heard, is by far one of the best as it has views of the garden and lake as well as... More
