Superd service, excellent food and very well looked after. Tried the shooting which was well organised, there is the golf course which looked good but did not have time to play it unfortunately. Ideal for families or if you just wanted to escape to the countryside. Lovely part of the world - special ! more

The Roxburghe was a pleasant surprise, the hotel is magnificently set in the beautiful Scottish Borders and we found it an ideal location for an active family break. There is a Championship 18 hole golf course which was in excellent condition, although I would advise using a golf cart as it is a long walk. There is excellent salmon fishing... more

We expected very little from this hotel, which was chosen for its location. It turned out to be a delightful overnight stay, in spacious rooms with excellent bathrooms, good service and great food. From here we went on to Inverlochy Castle, which was not as good, and more than double the price. more

I have just returned from a very relaxing 3 night stay at the charming Roxburghe Hotel and loved every minute of it. The hotel is gorgeous, very comfortable and cozy. The bedrooms were of a high standard with public areas downstairs to relax in front of log fires. Service was exceptionally high with housekeeping staff attending to the bedrooms twice... more

Reading the reviews only after staying here, it seems the hotel suffers from schizophrenia. I have to agree with some of the good reviews but have to also agree with some of the very negative as well. For the positive points - it is a beautiful property and staying there is an experience rather than just a bog standard 4... more

It is rare things start well and only get better but you can be assured of this at the Roxburghe. On arrival the staff could not do enough for us giving us a full tour of the puiblic rooms prior to taking us to our room. The room was large with views across the front lawns. The ensuite bathroom was... more

Stayed in February for a couple of nights. Food was not to the quality expected given the prices. I would not recommend this Hotel for a fine dining experience. more

We were part of a wedding party which took the whole place. Felt hotel decor was tired but it did have some character - although our so called "feature room" had little going for it. Golf course is excellent and food was okay. However, given the price we had to pay at £290 per night this was the biggest rip... more

We recently stayed at the hotel for one night and managed to get a late deal, where we were upgraded to a feature room for 140 pounds. I have to say that if I'd paid the full price for my room i would have been disappointed but for 140 the room was a good size and very well finished. The... more

I have just returned from a 2 day visit to Roxburgh. It is without doubt a lovely, small hotel in a beautiful setting. We were there for a wedding so the party had exclusive use of the hotel for the whole weekend. Upon arrival, reception was very polite and efficient. Check in took about 2 minutes. We were then shown... more
