From the staffs welcome through to my departure i had fantastic service and a throughly enjoyable experience. The food at this hotel exceeded all my expectations and by far... more

Nicely located in the middle of the town with free parking out the front or round the back in the day. Nice room very Scottish feel to it. Excellent breakfast but would be nicer in the restaurant rather than the bar. Good range of malts the usual sad kegs you get in the whole of Scotland. Nice staff and felt... more

We stayed here for two nights towards the end of of a two week tour around Scotland. family of four with two children aged 9 & 11. We had booked a family room, and had been staying in family rooms for last 7 nights, so fantastic bonus to us and the children to find we had been given two rooms... more

Booked for location and capacity, more than anything else. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Food was excellent and exceeded my expectations by some margin. Rooms are tired and in need of refurbishment. Unusually, for a Scottish hotel, the bar is poorly stocked. more

I stayed here on Saturday 3rd March 2007 as I was attending Kelso Racecourse's highlight of the year, the Borders National on the same day. Due to forgetting when this meeting was on I booked the room late (Tuesday 27th of March) I phoned up the hotel and was answered by a pleasant chap with a borders accent, as (in... more

Our family of four (two teenagers) stayed two nights in this very fine hotel. It faces the town square with plenty of parking right outside the hotel. Parking is free overnight until 10:00am the next morning. The square is very quiet at night. Major services (including the Royal Post) are available around the square. The location of this inn is... more

I stayed in this hotel for two nights in December with my parents for the races. My Dad was quite frail and the staff could not have been more attentive or helpful to us. He was not feeling so well on our second nights stay, but did go down for dinner. Although they were very busy that evening, on discovering... more

Stayed for weekend. Room was large and well-furnished and overlooked the Market Place. Quiet at night. The restaurant caters for non-residents and private functions and is exceedingly popular and well-run. The choice at dinner and breakfast was plentiful and service efficient and friendly. Plan to return soon. more
